We enjoyed the opportunity today to present a 2026 Commonwealth Games NSW Athlete Grant to outstanding cricketer Ava Drury (pictured here with CGNSW CEO Peter Tate).
Ava, from Wamberal on the Central Coast, is the 5th such recipient from cricket and joins previous winners Alisha, Callee, Tara and Kate. All from Regional NSW and all nominated by Cricket NSW. The $1,000 grant will assist with escalating travel expenses that country cricketers experience in pathways progression.
We wish Ava and all her NSW team-mates a fantastic 2026/27 season ahead.

2026 Commonwealth Games NSW Athlete Grant Winners

Commonwealth Games NSW is proud to announce the 2026 recipients of the CGNSW Athlete Grant Program.

Each recipient will be awarded $1,000. CGNSW CEO Peter Tate said “These young athletes have demonstrated tremendous ability in their respective sport pathways and we’re hopeful many will be selected to represent Australia at future Commonwealth Games”.

This is the 8th edition of the CGNSW Athlete Grants which commenced in 2016. There are now 248 recipients over that period. Nominating criteria requires each athlete to be a resident of NSW and under 20 years of age.

Judo NSW congratulates both Brigitte De Luca and Archie Simmonds as worthy recipients of this grant for 2026!
