The Women’s Shed - Hills Shire

The Women’s Shed - Hills Shire Shed’s heart pulsates with the rhythm of the community and vice versa.

Shed is not merely a space with four walls, it is a space to empower, embrace and enhance the wellbeing of women, their families, and the community they live in.

"Balance The Scales."
The Women’s Shed - Hills Shire bringing awareness to women's issues, recognising International Women's Day.

Life often feels like a balancing act.
Where and how should we balance the scales?
💪 It is about putting value to unpaid care by women.
💪💪 It is about listening when women speak.
💪💪💪 It is about giving space, because women need it.
We all can balance the scales at home, at work, and the community.

The year 2025 was truly exceptional, thanks to an outstanding group of women who fostered a strong sense of friendship, support, and care. They nurtured each other's lives, demonstrated camaraderie, and shared both tears and laughter equally. The Christmas spirit arrived early at the Women’s Shed - Hills Shire, and it was wonderful to celebrate over lunch. We all extend our gratitude to our parent organisation, Mind Connections Foundation.

How often do we truly thank ourselves as women?

This week’s session at the Shed was all about that.

By addressing ourselves as “Queen,” the women began to internalise gratitude and learn the beauty of thanking themselves, for who they were, who they are, and who they’re becoming.

We created gratitude cards dedicated to our past or future selves, gentle reminders of self-love and appreciation.

And the final destination?
Us. Always us.

We loved 'in conversation' with Dr Michelle Byrne - Mayor of the Hills Shire Council at the The Hills Shire Council. Thankyou so much for hosting the lunch.
It is great group of women, some older as 80 years, still contributing to the society meanigfully. Jasmine Rajput the social worker student from Western Sydney University gave us an idea about the nuturing qualities of this unique group.
Women who are willing to contribute to this society whilst maintaining independence to late 80's is not easy.
They are truly unique 🌟
They are exceptional ❤️

At Hill Shire, our women embraced the art of slowing down, through the gentle release of gua sha, the flow of lymphatic drainage, and the calming vibrations of sound healing. Each practice nurtured the body, eased the mind, and opened space for deep renewal. Together, we discovered that true healing begins with stillness and self-connection. 🌿✨
