A Gentle Reminder to Our Community

The contribution drive for the 108 Jangchub Chortens Project will officially close at midnight this Sunday.

On behalf of the Bhutanese community in Canberra, ABAC will compile and formally hand over the collected contributions to the GMC team next week.

This sacred initiative offers us a meaningful opportunity to be part of a legacy that will stand for generations, symbolising peace, merit, and our shared connection to Bhutan.

The Association of Bhutanese in Canberra (ABAC) plays an important role in representing, connecting, and supporting our growing Bhutanese community in the ACT. As we prepare for the next term, we encourage community members to come forward and nominate individuals who possess interest, integrity, commitment, and honesty to lead our community forward.

𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐀𝐁𝐀𝐂 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬

✅ Represents the Bhutanese community to the ACT Government, the Royal Bhutanese Embassy, and multicultural organisations.

✅ Builds and maintains strong relationships with government agencies, community groups, and stakeholders.

✅ Provides timely information, important announcements, and updates relevant to the Bhutanese community.

✅ Organises and leads national celebrations and community events, including National Day, Birth Anniversaries of Their Majesties, and multicultural activities.

✅ Supports families and individuals facing hardship through community fundraising, advocacy, and coordination.

✅ Assists community members by providing community support letters when required for legitimate matters and official purposes.

✅ Acts as a point of contact during social, welfare, and community-related issues affecting Bhutanese residents in Canberra.

ABAC is more than a committee; it is a platform of service, unity, and community leadership. The future strength of our community depends on capable and dedicated individuals who are willing to contribute their time, skills, and experience for the benefit of all.

We warmly invite passionate community members, especially our young professionals and emerging leaders, to step forward and nominate themselves or others who can serve with transparency, accountability, and a genuine commitment to the Bhutanese community.
