Canberra Spinners and Weavers is the focus group of spinning and weaving activities in Canberra - meetings, classes and tutorials, supplies and exhibitions.

We meet in the old high school, McLaurin Street, Chifley. Canberra Spinners and Weavers brings together people interested in spinning, weaving and related activities. Our group encourages the art and craft of spinning and weaving in the A.C.T. and surrounding region.

There's so much on this week! We have our regular drop ins, monthly Weave Study Group, our exhibition at Tuggeranong Arts Centre *and* our Design Canberra Open weekend on Saturday and Sunday.

We will have our 'Dissent' exhibition open to the public, as well as members selling their work and demonstrating their craft.

There's lots of drop in session on this week, as well as the very exciting opening night of our 'Sixty' exhibition.

OFFICIAL OPENING: Friday 23 October, 6pm
COST: Free, all welcome

Members of the Canberra Spinners and Weavers (CSW) present a selection of works created over the past decade. Marking 60 years of friendship, exhibitions, classes, demonstrations, and shared support, this exhibition celebrates their vibrant tradition as a long-standing local craft organisation. Showcasing a range of hand-spun and handwoven textiles, as well as wearable works, it reflects both continuity and innovation in the practice.

Update! Our members meeting is on this week, 1:30pm on Saturday. We'll have workshop tutors and attendees from 2026 showing off their work and talking about their workshop experiences.

Our monthly drop in is on Saturday morning from 10am. Please remember our library is still closed for repair work, but you can return books to the tub in the main room.
