Canberra Singapore Club Canberra Singapore Club (CSC) The aim of the club is to provide a forum for networking and socialising.

Through our regular functions and activities, members cultivate new friendship, network, exchange ideas, moan about the cold winter weather as well as the summer heatwave, have fun and enjoy what Singaporeans love most – makan (food). We also welcome Singaporean students who are studying in Canberra to join the Club. If you are currently studying here and would like an opportunity to meet up and socialise with other Singaporeans over a meal, we will be happy to hear from you. We may even be able to help you with tips on how to survive and enrich your experience in Australia! We organise social functions during festivals such as Chinese New Year, Deepavali, Singapore's National Day, Christmas, Moon cake and dumpling festival. The club also organises sporting activities including badminton and bushwalking. The CSC is always on the lookout for new activities for its members and any suggestions from the members are appreciated.

Hi everyone, we hope you are ready for the long weekend. With that said, double demerits have begun and will end on Monday, 5 October 2026, 11:59PM or 2359HRS. Hence, please drive safe if you are planning that road trip somewhere to explore the sights and sounds of this beautiful land.

Heading away these school holidays?

Whether you're travelling to the South Coast or somewhere else, let's make sure the memories you bring home are good ones.

The Kings Highway is one of the busiest routes between Canberra and the South Coast, so take your time and travel safely.

🚔Double demerits will apply during the Labour Day long weekend from 12 am Friday 2 October 2026 until 11:59 pm Monday 5 October 2026.
⚠️ Slow down and drive to the conditions. Higher speeds reduce your reaction time and increase the severity of crashes.
🚛 Be patient behind slower moving vehicles, including caravans, trucks and motorcycles.
👀 Only overtake when you have a clear view ahead and can complete the manoeuvre safely.
🦘 Watch for wildlife, particularly at dawn, dusk and at night. Kangaroos, wombats and other animals can enter the road unexpectedly.
🚤 If you’re towing a boat, caravan or trailer, check your tyres, lights and towing set up before you go.

Road safety is a shared responsibility. Let's look out for each other and help everyone arrive safely. Find more information: https://vist.ly/5k85w

Thank You for celebrating Singapore’s 61st National Day with us!

What a wonderful afternoon of Singaporean food, memories, laughter and community spirit!

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us for the National Day celebration, jointly organised by the Canberra Singapore Club (CSC) and the ANU Singapore Students' Association. Your presence and enthusiasm made the afternoon truly special as we came together to celebrate 61 years of Singapore’s independence.

We were especially honoured to welcome Singapore High Commissioner Mr Anil Nayar and his wife, Mrs Peck See Nayar (Singapore High Commission in Canberra). Thank you for taking the time to join us and celebrate this special occasion with the Singaporean community in Canberra.

A huge appreciation to the ANU SSA team for putting together such a fantastic trivia game! The carefully curated questions took many of us on a nostalgic journey down memory lane to old Singapore, while also testing our knowledge of how much our little red dot has evolved into the modern Singapore we know today.

From nostalgic memories to surprising facts about present-day Singapore, the trivia had everyone thinking, laughing and sharing stories.

And a special shoutout to ANU SSA President Karis Chua for hosting the event and, in particular, making the trivia segment so entertaining and engaging!

Of course, no Singaporean gathering would be complete without good, familiar Singaporean food! The delicious spread brought back memories of home and gave everyone plenty to enjoy while catching up with friends and meeting fellow Singaporeans.

And the desserts deserve a special mention!

A big thank you to our wonderful CSC members who went the extra mile to make and bring homemade Singaporean favourites — pulut hitam, ondeh ondeh, pandan cake and homemade cookies. They were clearly a hit — every single one was swept off the serving dishes! 😋

The lucky draw brought an extra burst of excitement to the afternoon, with everyone eagerly waiting to see whose ticket stub would be called next. Congratulations to all our lucky draw prize winners! We hope you enjoyed your prizes.

Most importantly, thank you to everyone who came along, participated so enthusiastically, shared a laugh, enjoyed the food and helped create such a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Thank you for making this National Day celebration one to remember.

🇸🇬Happy 61st Birthday, Singapore!
Majulah Singapura! ❤️🤍
