August was all about finals prep and unfortunately this one slipped through the cracks, but these three deserve their moment, and it was too important not to acknowledge. 👏
🟡 Community Coach of the Month: Darragh O’Byrne
Darragh took over the Gungahlin Eagles Women in 2022 with a squad largely new to rugby, and stuck with building the program the right way. In 2026 the Eagles became Minor Premiers, 18 points clear with a +254 differential, and Territory Cup holders after a
scoreless win over Tuggeranong in Round 14. They went on to win the Grand Final after an incredible season. He coaches the person as well as the player, and that is why he has been put forward for the Community Coach of the Month Award. 🏆
Thank you all for everything you do. 💛
🟡 Match Official of the Month: Sarah Corrigan
As Chair of the ACTRRA Coaching, Grading and Appointments Committee, Sarah looks after senior and junior appointments, referee coaching and development. She handles late changes, availability headaches and tough decisions, and most of it happens quietly behind
the scenes. Her work lets everyone else referee, coach and grow and for that, she has been nominated as the Match Official of the Month.
Thank you all for everything you do. 💛
🟡 Club Person of the Month: Chloe Holmes
Chloe is a Year 12 student at Daramalan who started out helping in the canteen, then took on managing it this season. She’s been reliable, professional and friendly, and has set a high standard of service for our members and families. Her maturity and commitment
go well beyond what you’d expect of a Year 12 student. She was also highlighted by Rugby Australia as the club person of the Month, Congratulations Chloe!
Thank you all for everything you do. 💛
