Caboolture-Morayfield & District RSL Sub Branch

Caboolture-Morayfield & District RSL Sub Branch CMD is a not-for-profit registered charity whose main purpose is to assist and support our ADF veterans.

Since its formation on 27th June 1912 , the CMD has been committed to the welfare of all veterans. We aim to assist all present and past members of the ADF and their dependants with free advice and assistance in obtaining disability pensions, compensation payments, health and community services, welfare services and income support payments and treatment. The CMD provides an environment for the pro

tection and promotion of the ideals of the ANZAC Spirit. Whether still serving or separated from the ADF, we encourage you to join and be part of the network of volunteers who not only share the bond of service but are also committed to giving back to their Defence family.

An unidentified Australian lieutenant and another unidentified Australian soldier of the 1st Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment (1 RAR) inspect a Victa lawn mower before cutting the long grass inside the United States Bien Hoa Air Base, Vietnam, August 1965.

From March-June 1965 to May-June 1966 1 RAR was attached to the United States 173rd Airborne Brigade as its third battalion. Initially 1 RAR were relegated to air base defence. However, from September of 1965 were engaged in operations outside if the base, including patrols, search and destroy missions, and general security operations in the Bien Hoa Province.

Today we remember Lance Corporal Stjepan Milosevic, Sapper James Martin and Private Robert Poate from 3rd Battalion, the Royal Australian Regiment Task Group, who were killed in an insider attack at Patrol Base Wahab in Afghanistan on 29 August 2012. Two other Australian soldiers were wounded in the attack.

As part of their Defence sector charity partnership with Mates4Mates, SHAPE Australia recently raised an incredible $30,000 to support veterans and families at their Annual Charity Golf Day held in Brisbane.

We wanted to say a huge thank you to SHAPE Australia and all the golfers and sponsors who spent the day on the green! These funds will help Mates4Mates support the physical, mental and social health of those impacted by service.
