πŸ’Œ World Letter Writing Day - 1 September

When was the last time you wrote someone a letter?

In a world of texts, emails and quick messages, there’s something special about taking the time to put pen to paper. ✍️

Today, why not write a note to someone who might need a little encouragement? It could be a friend, family member, neighbour, volunteer, or someone you haven’t spoken to in a while.

A few heartfelt words can make a big difference. ❀️

Who could you encourage with a letter today?

πŸ’œ WEAR IT PURPLE DAY πŸ’œ

Today we wear purple to show LGBTQIA+ young people that they are seen, valued, respected and supported. 🫢

Wear It Purple Day is about creating safe, inclusive and supportive spaces where every young person can be themselves, feel a sense of belonging, and know they are not alone.

Let’s celebrate diversity, stand against discrimination, and remind LGBTQIA+ young people that who they are matters, their voices matter, and they belong. πŸŒˆπŸ’œ

So, wear your purple with pride today and help spread a message of acceptance, kindness and belonging. πŸ’œ

🌼 DAFFODIL DAY | AUGUST 2026 🌼

Today, we’re joining communities across Australia in recognising Daffodil Day - a day of hope, support and coming together for people affected by cancer. πŸ’›

The daffodil is a symbol of hope and reminds us that behind every cancer diagnosis is a person, a family, a friend and a community.

Today we acknowledge those living with cancer, celebrate survivors, remember those we have lost, and recognise the incredible work being done in cancer research, prevention and support. 🌼

Together, our communities can make a difference.

πŸ’› Let’s share hope, show support and stand together for a future free from cancer.

If you’d like to support Daffodil Day, you can find out more about Cancer Council Australia’s appeal and ways to get involved through their official website.

πŸŒπŸ’™ WORLD HUMANITARIAN DAY | 19 AUGUST 2026 πŸ’™πŸŒ

Today we recognise World Humanitarian Day and the people who dedicate their time, skills and compassion to helping others through times of crisis and need.

Humanitarian action reminds us of the power of kindness, compassion and community. Whether it is providing practical support, listening to someone who needs help, volunteering, or simply showing up for others - every act of humanity matters. 🀝

Today, we acknowledge the incredible people around the world who work to support and protect others, often in incredibly challenging circumstances.

Let’s continue to build communities where people are treated with dignity, respect and compassion, and where no one feels forgotten or alone. πŸ’™

🌍 Together, we can make a difference - one act of kindness at a time.
