The Climate Corps Initiative

The Climate Corps Initiative TCCI is an advocate for environmental justice. TCCI was established from a vision: to bring environmental justice to a community long ignored and stared down.

Our work centers on uplifting those most impacted by environmental harm, challenging systemic inequities, and advancing climate resiliency and pollution reduction solutions in disadvantaged communities. The Climate Corps Initiative (TCCI) is proud to be the first environmental nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the vibrant communities of Sun Valley and broader Los Angeles county disadvant

aged communities of color. Our organization was born directly from the heartfelt calls for help by Sun Valley residents, hardworking people who have endured the consequences of decades-long environmental neglect and systemic underinvestment. As lifelong residents and committed local business owners, our founders have witnessed and personally experienced environmental injustice and the harsh reality of environmental racism that have shaped daily life in Sun Valley and surrounding communities. These lived experiences have provided us with a nuanced and deep understanding of the myriad environmental and health issues facing our community. Our streets, schools, and family homes have borne the brunt of polluted air, lack of green space, insufficient access to resources, and the absence of a seat at the table when decisions are made about our future. Our journey is rooted in the ongoing fight for equity and dignity. We are unwavering in our mission to uplift our neighborhoods by delivering essential resources and creating paths to healthier, more sustainable living. For too long, decisions affecting Sun Valley and similar neighborhoods have been made by people who are removed from our daily reality, those who may lack understanding, experience, or, at times, even empathy for the suffering quietly endured here. At TCCI, we believe in agency and self-determination. Our organization exists to amplify the voices of our people, ensuring residents have the power to participate in policy decisions that impact their lives. We are committed to listening intentionally and persistently, recognizing that the most effective change comes from genuine collaboration with those most affected.

Remembering the victims of the Armenian Genocide

Today we remember the 1.5 million Armenians who were lost during the Armenian Genocide.

We honor their lives, their stories, and the resilience of a people who endured unimaginable loss. Remembrance is not only about the past—it’s a commitment to truth, recognition, and ensuring that history is never denied or repeated.

We stand in remembrance. We stand for justice.
