Shaune Watts Fundraiser I'm a personal fundraiser who raises money for Mater Foundation through various events.

Today marks a deeply meaningful moment for our family as we proudly share the launch of www.jackwattslegacy.com, a website created to honour Jack’s legacy and keep his story alive. We invite you to take a few moments to explore the site, to learn more about the story behind this initiative, and sharing it with your family, friends and colleagues to help spread awareness.
We’ve included a short video to accompany the launch: https://youtu.be/ZsYH-SS0LmM
From our family to yours, thank you for your ongoing support — not only in sharing this site, but in standing with us and advocating for our cause. Together, we will drive hope when all is lost.

Feeling so proud and humbled that the sponsorship for my Third Annual Jack Watts Legacy golf day has reached another record total of $82,000 thanks to Inspire Health Services who have jumped on board this year as not only a first-time sponsor, but joining the Platinum sponsorship club as our Dinner sponsor, even though they are not able to enter a team. A massive shout-out to all sponsors who have generously put their hand in their pocket to achieve this wonderful outcome. To support patients diagnosed with rare cancer, a tax-deductible donation can be made here https://fundraise.mater.org.au/event/jack-watts-legacy-golf-day-26/home and I kicked it off with $100.

Funds raised through the Jack Watts Legacy helped establish the Mater Rare Cancer Hub, which will continue to fast-track clinical trials, support people with rare cancers, and change lives across Queensland — all while carrying forward Jack’s legacy of strength, compassion, and hope for a bright...

Together, we drive hope when all is lost

This is the purpose statement for my Third Annual Jack Watts Legacy golf day (17th consecutive overall) with support of Mater Foundation being held on Friday 28, August and yes, the golf pun is intentional, as that’s exactly what we are trying to achieve from the golf day this year.

With the creation of the Mater Rare Cancer Hub (Hub) from the inaugural Jack Watts Legacy golf day in 2024 ($103k raised) and the subsequent funds raised from this event last year ($105k raised), coupled with the $100K that Solahart have generously donated via their annual conference in Vietnam that Kimberley and I attended in March, this is exactly what we are doing.

When all traditional methods of treatment have been exhausted, the clinical trials that have been established through the Hub is providing “HOPE”, hope for rare cancer patients and their families that maybe these trials can extend their life and give them an opportunity that wasn’t available prior to the establishment of the Hub and the work they are doing.

With the sold-out sign up with 36 confirmed teams and a record $78,500 in sponsorship, I want to share our family's heartfelt gratitude and thanks for the overwhelming generosity of the following Co-Host, Platinum, Gold and Hole sponsors.

Opportunities to support this event remain available in varying capacities, please reach out if you would like to sponsor or donate a prize to the event.

Amazing contribution for the work we are doing in continuing Jack’s legacy. Looking forward to continuing this relationship into the future and supporting us in making a meaningful difference to the lives of patients diagnosed with rare cancer.

We’re incredibly grateful to Solahart Australia for their first ever donation to the Jack Watts Legacy, an extraordinary $100,091.

This generous gift will help honour Jack’s legacy in a meaningful and lasting way, supporting vital cancer research into rare cancers and the work of the Mater Rare Cancer Hub.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Shaune Watts Fundraiser for his advocacy in making this partnership possible, and to Solahart for their support in helping create lasting hope and meaningful impact for our community.

It has been a busy start to the year where my wife and I had a whirlwind 5-day trip to Vietnam as the charity partner at Solahart Australia annual conference where $100,091 was donated to Jack Watts Legacy in support of Mater Foundation.

The Third Annual Jack Watts Legacy golf day (17th consecutive) being held on 28 August at Wynnum Golf Club is now officially sold out with 144 players confirmed.

Our purpose statement for this year: Together, we drive hope when all is lost

The event has secured record sponsorship of $78,500, with a number of returning long term sponsors and it's great to see some new sponsors this year.

The success of this event is not possible without these wonderful supporters, and they cannot support this event with you supporting them. If you are in the need of a trade, new or used car, computer, blinds or shutters, or anything else, please reach out to these wonderful supporters.

I want to give a huge shout-out to our Co-Host and Platinum sponsors for the event this year:

It was a pleasure catching up with Steven Jovanovski from Solahart Australia and receiving the generous $100,091 donation to the Jack Watts Legacy and Mater Foundation. This contribution will directly support the vital work we are doing to honour Jack’s legacy and make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients diagnosed with rare cancers. We look forward to continuing this valued partnership into the future.

A heartfelt thank-you to Solahart Australia and all your dealers in supporting Jack Watts Legacy under the banner of the Mater Foundation with your very generous pledge of $100,000. A special thank-you to Troy Vukojevich and Tim Hedger for advocating for our cause making this happen. This money will continue to make a meaningful difference to the lives of patients diagnosed with rare cancer, by providing access to clinical trials. Our family is so very proud, humbled and privileged to have been provided this wonderful opportunity to share our Mater story and be the charitable beneficiaries of this year's annual conference. We can't express our gratitude enough on how impactful this money will be for those of us less fortunate. We look forward to continuing the relationship we have built from the success of this event into the future. A big thank-you to Alastair Lynch for hosting the winners of “a round of golf with Lynchy” at Brookwater Golf & Country Club yesterday, an auction item from the Jack Watts Legacy golf day in support of Mater Foundation in August last year.

Some of the photos from Solahart Australia gala dinner on Tuesday night. The final tally from the event is still to be worked through, a very generous group of people in the room. Looking forward to sharing the final tally once known with all funds raised being donated to Mater Foundation to continue the worked we have started under Jack Watts Legacy.
