A big thank you to QJCCI members and guests who attended last Tuesday morning's breakfast event with our special guest speaker from Tokyo, Melanie Brock AM!

After an introduction by QJCCI President Martin Spann, Melanie gave a fascinating speech on how corporate governance reforms and increasing board diversity are driving improved shareholder returns, amid the rise of activist investors.

Melanie also stressed how security challenges and the energy transition are key areas of focus for Japan, with Australia seen as a key partner but with competition from other Western nations for Japanese investment.

Thanks again to Mr ISHIKAWA Katsutoshi, Consul-General of Japan in Brisbane for joining us and our other VIPs including from Mitsubishi Development, Austrade, Queensland Treasury, Trade and Investment Queensland, ANZCCJ and many others!

Please stay tuned for our next event including our September 1 event in !
