Dear Brisbane Community,

After 5 years of bringing together the Latin, local and international community, the time has come for Latin House Inc to come to an end.

We would like to thank every single one of you who has been involved, attended and supported Latin House Inc events since this project started. It has been a great journey with a lot of learning experiences, ups, downs and at the same time, such a great joy sharing Latin culture within the local community in Brisbane.

In the last 5 years we had the opportunity to host community workshops with the ATO, FairWork Australia, Latin Engineers Australia; we have supported events for other communities and we also had the opportunity of delivering multiple editions of Latin Bazaar Markets and the Colombian Independence Day Festival. These two iconic Latin events in Brisbane provided the platform to promote culture, entrepreneurship and Latin American performers.

Thank you Brisbane for all of your support during this time, especially all of the volunteers who helped to make these events happen! This is all for now. But you can be sure we will still be working for and with the community in multiple ways. See you around and take care Brisbane!

Between Olas (weaves) together visceral memories and experiences of the ocean to create a fable for its much needed protection and reverence. A celebration of the influence of traditional dance styles from the ensembles’ mixed cultural heritage, blended with urban and contemporary dance, audiences will be taken on a voyage that honors the unfathomable beauty and chaos of the sea. An enduring symbol of life itself, wave after wave after wave.
This is the first full-length work from N**O (meaning knot in spanish), who work to strengthen their ties through dance, culture and friendship, so that they can survive the waves and even sail together on them. In a poignant twist their studio was destroyed in the recent floods whilst they were creating this show, a reminder of the depth of our interconnectedness.

N**O is a cultural and contemporary dance company creating atmospherically capturing and culturally grounded movement works. Reflecting the artistic visions of incredible fusion dance artist Yasim Coronado Veranes, N**O brings together a diverse ensemble of dancers.

The Latin Bazaar has been postponed due to the weather forecast!

Unfortunately we have made the difficult decision to postpone the Latin Bazaar as the foreboding rain would make the event site unsafe. The safety of our guests, our performers and our stallholders are of the utmost importance and we would prefer to celebrate when the sun is shining and everyone is able to be dancing and enjoying the rhythms of Latin America!

Do not despair! Rest assured we will be back soon. Our new date will be broadcasted as soon as possible. For now, stay safe, enjoy the rain from the indoors, and we will see you all soon!
