This ANZAC Day, we pause to say thank you to the Australian and New Zealand servicemen and women who courageously put their lives on the line so we could have the life and future we do today. Their sacrifice, courage and selflessness will never be forgotten.

As each year passes and fewer ANZACs remain with us, our gratitude and respect only grow stronger. We honour not only their service, but the lives they have lived, the families who stood beside them, and the legacy they leave behind.

From all of us at DCC Industry Group, we remember.

Lest we forget.

This Queensland Youth Week, it’s time to recognise the strength of young people’s voices across our state. This year’s theme highlights the importance of connection and inclusion – while supporting young people to shape their own futures.

At DCC Industry Group, our residential youth workers are creating space for young people to be heard and valued. Every day brings a clear reminder that understanding young people means more than knowing how they communicate; it means understanding how they want to be heard.

This is especially true for our vulnerable community members, and young people from trauma-informed backgrounds. For Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, listening goes beyond conversation; it requires cultural understanding, respect and genuine commitment to walking alongside them.

We know that when young people feel heard, they feel safe. And when they feel safe, they can begin to build trust, connection and a sense of belonging. During Queensland Youth Week, we must stay reminded to walk alongside young people and bring them to the forefront of our conversations.

Today we pause, reflect, and honour the strength, resilience, and enduring spirit of the Stolen Generations, their families, and their communities.
We acknowledge the deep hurt caused by past government policies that forcibly removed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children from their families, cultures, and Country.
We stand with survivors.
We respect their stories.
And we support ongoing healing, truth-telling, and connection.
At DCC, we are committed to walking alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples with dignity, culture, and connection at the centre of everything we do.
We recognise the pain of the past and remain dedicated to creating a future grounded in understanding, compassion, and cultural safety.
Today — and every day — we reflect, we learn, and we stand together.
🖤💛❤️

“To the world you may be one person, but to one child you may be the world."

Sometimes it’s the little things, showing up, listening, being there, that mean everything. You don’t have to be perfect, just present.

🎬🎄 A Christmas Celebration to Remember! 🎄🎬

On Tuesday 16 December, DCC’s Foster and Kinship Care team had the absolute joy of hosting a special Christmas celebration for our incredible carers and their families.

Families enjoyed a fun-filled day at the movies watching Zootopia 2, followed by a delicious lunch at Cineplex’s special events venue. But the real highlight? A surprise visit from the big man himself — Santa Claus 🎅!

Santa came armed with plenty of goodies for the children and even took time out of his busy schedule to sit, chat, and share a few smiles with everyone.

It was truly a magical day, and we are so grateful for our wonderful carers who do so much every day.

Thank you for being part of the DCC Industry Group family ❤️

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a joyful holiday season! 🎁✨

🎄 We’re off to the Brisbane Children’s Christmas Party this Saturday! 🎄

For more than 30 years, this incredible event has brought together thousands of children with disabilities and complex needs from across SE Queensland for a day of pure magic! From rides, stage shows, a petting zoo, yummy treats, and of course, Santa with his amazing toy room!

It’s all about giving kids the chance to forget therapies and appointments for a few hours and just enjoy being kids. Every child will receive three special gifts chosen just for them! How amazing is that?

We’re really proud to support this amazing event as a Bronze Sponsor this year, and honestly, we couldn’t be more excited to celebrate alongside these incredible families!

If you’re coming along, please stop by and say hi! We’d love to meet you!
