Queensland Fire Biodiversity Consortium in partnership with the Gulf Savannah NRM are holding 3 separate Fire Information and Fire Management planning workshops for Mareeba residents.

Learn some practical strategies for fire preparedness and the benefits of having a fire management plan for your property. A great opportunity to share views and experiences on managing fire risk, engage in discussions around developing strategies for your property and possibly in conjunction with your neighbours.

Fire Management Planning Workshop for landholders of Sunshine Coast Council Land for Wildlife program.
On the weekend, landholders where guided by QFBC, Sunshine Coast Council Land for Wildlife Officers and a local Rural Fire Volunteer from Queensland Fire and Emergency Services - QFES on how to create a fire management plan for their properties that considered fire safety, biodiversity conservation, and protection of cultural values.
The workshop followed two online forums hosted by Healthy Land & Water with guest speakers from QFES, Queensland Fire and Biodiversity Consortium and of course local Sunshine Coast Council Officers.
Thanks to Scouts Queensland for the excellent venue and provision of a prescribed burn demonstration site.
