Community Lunch is more than just a meal. For Thomas and Helen, it became family.

After years of loss and the kind of loneliness that creeps in quietly, they found a table where someone knew their name, pulled up a chair, and made them feel loved.

Now they bring their neighbours, their friends, and strangers they meet on the street, because they know what it means to walk in feeling alone and leave feeling like you belong.

This is what Community Connect is all about. Not just a hand out, but a hand to hold.

When one person changes, the whole family feels it.

Ps Richard Bevan from Life Unlimited Church in Canberra has seen it firsthand. Parents completing Circuit Breaker and going home different. Kids noticing. Then signing up themselves.

That's the ripple effect of early intervention done well. One course. One decision. A whole family transformed.

We exist because people matter. And when people discover there is a better way to communicate, communities change too.

When Gloria-Rose first walked through the doors of Mimi's House, she could barely look anyone in the eye. By the end of the year, she was a different child, braver, more confident, and full of courage she didn't know she had.

Her mum watched every step of that transformation, and her gratitude says it all.
We exist because people matter. Every act of generosity makes space for children like Gloria-Rose to find their voice, and once they find it, there's no stopping them.
