Over ten weeks as a Circuit Breaker facilitator, Bryce Davies watched participants learn to recognise their anger earlier, before a situation turned into something they’d regret.

What warmed him most? The honesty, the friendship and the sense of community that grew in the room.

You don’t need to be a counsellor to facilitate Circuit Breaker. You need a heart for people and a willingness to create a space where it’s safe to tell the truth. We’ll train and support you for the rest.

Darren came to us at 8 years old, struggling to stay in the classroom and connect with learning. Week by week, a relationship was built. Trust followed. And then something shifted.

By the end of the year, a child who started completely unable to read was sitting down every Friday with a book in his hands.

In his own words: “When I am at Mimi’s House I feel happy and excited and everyone loves me. I feel safe.”

That is the impact of Mimi’s House. One child, one connection, one breakthrough at a time.

We're thrilled to share that Diana Green has been named the winner of the Westfield North Lakes Local Hero Award!

Diana has been a consistent and faithful supporter and advocate of Mimi's House for years, and we're so grateful for her.

A massive thank you to Diana, to everyone who voted, and to Westfield North Lakes for championing local heroes in our community.

This $20,000 grant will help us keep creating safe spaces and places where children can thrive.

Community Connect is more than a program. It is a way of meeting people in the middle of real need and reminding them they are not alone.

From emergency food relief and SecondBite parcels filling empty cupboards, to community lunches turning strangers into friends, to Hope Kids Hangout giving children a safe and joy-filled place to belong, to school lunch packs making sure no child goes without.
This is what it looks like to bring help and hope to a community that needs it.

None of it happens without your support. Thank you for making Term 3 possible.

1,010 school lunch packs. 170 food parcels to families doing it tough. 48 children completing Term 3 at Mimi's House. 48 people completing their first Circuit Breaker course. And over 774 attendances across Community Connect events.
Every single one of those numbers is a real person, one step further along their journey.
