Redlands Dog Obedience Club

Redlands Dog Obedience Club is a not-for-profit dog training service in Redlands City Council.

Our volunteers teach a variety of disciplines including: obedience, rally, tricks, dancing with dogs, agility, scent work, retrieving and hoopers. Redlands Dog Obedience Club teaches Obedience, Agility and Dancing With Dogs Classes for both social fun and competition. TRAINING UPDATE MONDAY JUNE 15TH - CLASSES ARE ON

Good afternoon all. The field status remains on Amber Alert as per councils update from last week. I have been down to the fields this morning and they are damp and squishy in places, however we believe that our regular Monday classes can continue. We would recommend that members wear some sturdy shoes/boots suitable for wet conditions & perhaps bring a towel for your fury friend. See you tonight!

In what should come as no surprise to anyone, the club grounds will remain closed. Unfortunately, last night we have received another 40mm of rain and the forecast is for more throughout today. This means that all training is cancelled today, Monday the 18th of May 2026. At this stage all Tuesday training will be postponed also. Should things change an update will be posted via the usual channels.

Redlands Dog Obedience Club are selling off Agility Equipment with funds going to purchase newer Agility Equipment for the club.

AFRAME old competition one NOT Rubberised
— 1.58 height to top of Apex, 2.50 metres length x 2 planks and 900 wide, when fully up it is 3.90 wide.

It will need a new top Apex pin that supports the up/ down planks it is missing (image supplied of where pin required that highest bid needs to source ).

Photos of it below Starting Bid is $380 with highest bidder to be successful.
Bids are to be placed below with closing date 15th May, 2026 at 5 pm.

Pickup will be at winners expense from Redlands Dog Obedience Club, Birkdale, South East Queensland.

Redlands Agility Trial
It is great weather for ducks and ducks and agility don’t mix so we have to cancel tonight’s trial. Refunds will be processed shortly.

The Redlands Dog Obedience Club are saddened to learn of the recent passing of life member Laurie Butler. Laurie passed away on April 15, 2026, at the age of 92. Laurie and his beloved wife Arlene were long time members of the club. Laurie as an instructor and a skilled craftsman was well regarded at the club, especially as he created some of the clubs equipment.
Arlene was also a life member of RDOC. Both Laurie & Arlene loved to train their German Shepherds in both obedience and tracking. Fondly remembered for their devotion to lay down tracks at the crack of dawn for the clubs tracking trials.

After Arlene's passing, Laurie continued to train & trial in obedience with his sheltie, Cody, all the way up to his 90th birthday.

Redlands Dog Obedience Club members represented the club at Lauries funeral on Tuesday, as a mark of respect and proudly wore their Redlands Dog Obedience Club shirts.
We want to express our sadness and pass on condolences to Laurie's family and friends and we fondly remember the contributions that both Laurie and Arlene made to the Club and the greater dog community.

ALL CLASSES CANCELLED TONIGHT - MONDAY 27th April 2026
The grounds are sodden, the ditch is full and the rain looks set to continue all afternoon. We all know what wet dog smells like!!

Unfortunately, with the Labor Day holiday on Monday 4th of May 2026 there will not be any classes on this week either. Foundations classes will begin on May 11th.

See you all in two weeks on Monday 11th May 2026.

— 120m high top plank, 3.50 metres length x all 3 planks,
One of the legs/braces that supports the up/ down plank is broken off and will need fixing ie re welding of it (image supplied).
