Thank you to all AAA members who participated and supported the return of the AAA National Auction.

Seven lots sold for a total of $93,500, averaging more than $13,350 per lot. From established breeding animals to exciting young prospects and our three National Show Wildcards, the results demonstrated that quality Australian alpacas and elite genetics continue to be sought after and valued.

Thank you once again to every vendor who backed the concept, every bidder who put their hand up, and every buyer who invested in the future of their herd and our industry.

LOT 11: ASHBOURNE DEADLY SIN ✨🏆

And to round out our 2026 National Elite Auction results, we have our final sold lot of the evening - Ashbourne Deadly Sin!

This exceptional pregnant female, offered for sale by Rebecca and Darren Hard of Ashbourne Alpacas, Victoria, presented buyers with not only an outstanding female, but the exciting prospect of the next generation already on board.

Deadly Sin was secured by Ian Frith of Millpaca, New South Wales, for an impressive $12,500.

LOT 8: WILDCARD 3 - YARINGA AQUAMARINE ✨🏆

Our third and final Wildcard delivered another fantastic result at the 2026 National Elite Auction!

Yaringa Aquamarine, an exceptional young female offered for sale by Susan Haese of Yaringa Alpacas, South Australia, earned her place in the auction following an outstanding performance at the 2026 Australian Alpaca Association National Show, where she was awarded:

🏆 Best Medium/Dark Fawn Female Huacaya

Aquamarine attracted plenty of attention on auction night and, following some competitive bidding, was secured by Sam Hood and Mark Gumbley of Lakeland Alpacas, QLD, for $10,500.

Congratulations to Susan and Yaringa Alpacas on a wonderful result, and to Sam and Mark on securing this exciting young female for their Lakeland breeding program.

Aquamarine is another great example of what we hoped the Wildcard concept would bring to the Elite Auction, allowing standout animals from the National Show to earn their place in the auction and giving buyers the opportunity to secure some of the most exciting alpacas on the grounds.

From South Australia to Queensland, we look forward to following Aquamarine's future and seeing what she can contribute to the next generation at Lakeland Alpacas.

LOT 7: WILDCARD 2 - BEDROCK CIERRA ✨🏆

Our second Wildcard of the 2026 National Elite Auction saw another outstanding National Show female step from the show ring straight into the auction spotlight!

Bedrock Cierra, an elite Suri female offered for sale by Tara and Chris Ravenhill of Bedrock Alpacas, Western Australia, earned her Wildcard opportunity following a fantastic result at the 2026 Australian Alpaca Association National Show, where she was awarded:

🏆 Champion Intermediate Female Suri

Cierra was secured by Sharyn and Dave Jennings of Royal View Alpacas, South Australia, for $5,500.

Congratulations to Tara and Chris on a wonderful result and to Sharyn and Dave on the addition of this exciting young female to their herd.

It's also fantastic to see quality genetics travelling across the country, with Cierra making the journey from Western Australia to South Australia to begin the next chapter of her future with Royal View Alpacas.

The Wildcard concept was introduced to give exceptional animals emerging at the National Show an opportunity to enter the Elite Auction and Cierra was another wonderful example of exactly that. 🏆

LOT 6: AMBERSUN ETCHING APP ✨🤎

Another outstanding result for an exceptional female at the 2026 National Elite Auction!

Ambersun Etching APP, offered for sale by Chris Williams of Ambersun Alpacas, arrived at the auction following a brilliant performance at the 2026 Australian Alpaca Association National Show, where she was awarded:

🏆 Reserve Champion Adult Female
🏆 Best Fancy Huacaya

This striking Appaloosa female certainly caught the attention of buyers and, following some enthusiastic bidding, was secured by Sharon and Mark Sheehan of Sweet Valley Alpacas, WA for an impressive $15,000.

Congratulations to Chris and Mitch on another fantastic auction result, and to Sharon and Mark on adding another exciting animal to their breeding program.

With both Ambersun Etching APP and Ambersun PJ APP heading west to Sweet Valley Alpacas, we think it's safe to say Sharon and Mark had a very successful night at the Elite Auction! ✈️🌅🦙

LOT 5: WILDCARD - LAKELAND LOUISIANNA ✨🏆

Lakeland Louisianna, an exceptional junior female offered by Sam Hood and Mark Gumbley of Lakeland Alpacas (QLD) earned her place in the Elite Auction following an outstanding performance at the 2026 Australian Alpaca Association National Show.

Louisianna was awarded:
🏆 Champion Junior Female
🏆 Best Female Huacaya in Show
🏆 Best Light Fawn Female Huacaya

Her success in the show ring certainly carried through to Saturday night's auction, with spirited bidding seeing Louisianna ultimately secured by Barbara Hetherington of Beck Brow Alpacas, (SA) for an outstanding $30,000 - the top selling price of the 2026 Elite Auction!

LOT 5: SOLD $30,000 🔨✨

A wonderful result for the inaugural Wildcard concept and a fantastic demonstration of exactly what it was designed to achieve, giving exceptional animals emerging from the National Show the opportunity to step straight from the show ring into the national auction spotlight.

Congratulations to Barbara on her purchase of this very special young female. We can't wait to follow Louisianna's future and see what she brings to the Beck Brow breeding program.

LOT 4: AMBERSUN PJ APP 🤎✨

Ambersun PJ APP, a striking Appaloosa certified stud male offered by Chris Williams of Ambersun Alpacas, came into the auction following a fantastic result at the 2026 Australian Alpaca Association National Show, where he was awarded 1st place in his class.

PJ attracted strong interest on auction night and was ultimately secured for $10,000 by Sharon and Mark Sheehan of Sweet Valley Alpacas, Western Australia.

Congratulations to Chris and Mitch on a terrific result, and to Sharon and Mark on adding this exciting young male to their breeding program. We wish PJ all the very best as he heads west and look forward to seeing what the future holds for him!

LOT 2: CHAPARRAL MYSTEERIOUS 🖤

Chaparral Mysteerious, a certified stud male offered by Mark Short and Dee Finlay of Chaparral Alpacas, entered the Elite Auction fresh from an outstanding result at the 2026 Australian Alpaca Association National Show, where he was awarded Best Black Male and Best Black Overall.

Mysteerious attracted plenty of interest on auction night, ultimately selling for $10,000 to a joint partnership between Rebecca and Darren Hard of Ashbourne Alpacas and Sam Hood and Mark Gumbley of Lakeland Alpacas.

Congratulations to Mark and Dee on a fantastic result, and to his new owners on securing this exciting young male. We look forward to seeing the influence Mysteerious will have within both breeding programs in the years ahead.

The Australian Alpaca Association National Show Elite Auction proved to be an incredible success, and we want to begin with a very sincere thank you to the breeders who had the courage to nominate their alpacas and give this event a go.

We understood the hesitation. We understood the trepidation. The alpaca industry and the world around us has changed enormously over recent years.

The closure of international borders had a significant impact on our market, followed by global economic challenges that compounded the uncertainty. But through our conversations with breeders, one thing kept coming through loud and clear:

This is our passion. This is what we love.

We breed alpacas because we enjoy striving for that next generation. We invest our hard-earned money into our herds because we are passionate about improving them. Every year, significant private sales continue to take place across Australia as breeders seek out that special animal.

This year, we wanted to bring those sales back into the spotlight.

We wanted to showcase the strength that still exists within the Australian alpaca industry and remind ourselves, and the Alpaca world that the passion is still here, quality is still valued and breeders are still prepared to invest in elite Australian genetics.

And the results spoke for themselves.

Seven lots sold.
$93,500 in total sales.
An average of $13,360 per lot.

What an exceptional result and what a wonderful win for our industry? 👏

While we may no longer see some of the extraordinary prices of years gone by, we don't believe that tells the story of the quality or strength of our industry. It also reflects a very different global economy. What this auction demonstrated is that quality animals still have value, elite genetics are still sought after and breeders are still investing in the future.

But perhaps the greatest success of the evening wasn't measured in dollars at all.

It was the atmosphere. There was a buzz in the room.

There was excitement, anticipation, friendly rivalry, laughter and maybe even a few nerves as those bids climbed! It brought back memories and nostalgia for those who remember the great alpaca auctions of years gone by, while creating something new for the next generation.

Most importantly, it brought breeders together.

To our vendors, bidders, buyers, supporters and everyone who simply came along and enjoyed Saturday night with us - thank you. We sincerely hope you had as much fun as we did.

And now we can officially say…

THE ELITE AUCTION WILL RETURN IN 2027! 🥂
