BAI are excited that Mr Dimples is joining the lineup for Bendigo Open Studios again!

Mr Dimples’ is a Bendigo street artist primarily working with paste ups and stencils. His art has always come from an emotional experience, whether happy, angry or frustrated.

Mr Dimples was born, one night in 2012, where the artist had a few scary experiences of an intruder hanging around his house, causing many sleepless nights. He used art has an emotional response inspired by the frustrations of his life, such as friendship, work, social media/technology and dating.

Using his distinctive style and iconic characters, each canvas tells a story of events or people in the artist’s life.

Check his studio at the Hargreaves Studio this weekend.

BAI is excited that another of it’s members is in the 2025 Bendigo Open Studios line up.

Dale Harris is a graphic designer with a passion for illustration and visual storytelling.

Working primarily in digital illustration, Dale brings a tactile sensibility to his work, often emulating the textures, imperfections, and warmth of traditional printmaking techniques such as risograph, screenprint, and lino cut.

His work balances the precision of digital tools with the charm and character of handmade art. Based in Bendigo, Victoria, Dale draws inspiration from the everyday, the absurd, and the beautifully imperfect. Whether exploring folklore, modern myth or visual play, his work is imbued by a bold graphic style and a love of ink and form. He’s still deciding what he’ll be when he grows up—but artist is looking like a strong contender.

Back at it. Time to highlight another BAI member doing Bendigo Open Studios is Lucretia Lane.

An unexpected 20 year hiatus, raising a family and other obligations I returned to art 2 years ago via life drawing sessions with my amazing friend Sarah Hansford.

I teach my kids to do new things even if it scares them; and realised i needed to do the same. So here I am, a self-taught artist, a lifelong fascination with form; and the expressive power of shape, angle and curve. I explore them as they appear in the human figure- and as they are mirrored in the constructs we create. I try to capture emotion, and the quiet tension between the abstraction and familiarity found in these forms.

Another BAI member we want to celebrate is Nicole Holland. She is also part of Bendigo Open Studios.

Nicole Holland is a Primary School teacher and artist whose creative journey began in 2020 under the mentorship of Terry Jarvis, Nick Truscott, and Kim Lowe.

She has since exhibited in Bendigo, Castlemaine Kyneton and Pyramid Hill, with highlights including her work Bonjour Amor! displayed on the Old Fire Station doors for the French Epoch exhibition at Bendigo Art Gallery.

BAI is excited to have one of its members, Chris Duffy, join the Bendigo Open Studios lineup for 2025.

Chris Duffy, known as Ha Ho Art, is an energetic and imaginative pop and street artist deeply rooted in Bendigo’s visual culture.

His vibrant works fuse hand-painted acrylics with digitally based design, featuring bold colours, retro nostalgia, and pop-culture references. Duffy works on canvas, board, and shaped cutouts, often using a jigsaw for added depth.

His murals enliven central Bendigo, including a major work at Dudley House’s garden. Through exhibitions like Astro Bendigo, he brings humour, colour, and a strong sense of place to his storytelling.

Another BAI member which is joining Bendigo Open Studios is Electric Siren.

Electric Siren is a multidisciplinary artist living in Bendigo. They have a previous history working in filmmaking and photography through performance art, which becomes a reference point for the creative process to expand through self portraiture. They work in mixed media to represent themes of mermaids, sirens, figurative work and metaphoric symbolism. Often working with UV and glow paint, and drawing inspiration from the horror genre.

Another of our BAI members particpating in Bendigo Open Studio is Amber Collet.

Amber Collet is a local practising artist working mainly with the figure. She has had a number of solo and group shows, sponsored by the Bendigo City Council and regionally. She teaches art, photography and French to secondary students and in the past has lectured education students in the Visual Arts at La Trobe University, Bendigo.

You can catch her work during the Bendigo Open Studios weekend. October 10-12.

BAI has many talented members and many are involved in the ! BAI wants to celebrate each artist’s talent and creativity by showcasing them to our socials.

First to kick us off is ! Sarah is a self taught figuraitve artist. She loves to use materials to express feeling and movement, with dark charcoals and watercolours.

Sarah has been attending BAI’s Go figure drawing workshops. Give Sarah lots of love and go check out her studio in Flora Hill on October 10-12th.
