Make-A-Wish Australia is seeking wish granting and fundraising volunteers in Mildura.
When you volunteer in your local Mildura Branch, you’ll help children who are fighting serious illnesses by:
-Attending branch meetings on a evening once a month.
-Helping local wish families by capturing their child’s unique wish and bringing the wish to life through different stages of the Wish Journey.
-Supporting fundraising and events, from trivia nights and sausage sizzles to gala balls and bake-offs. Please note that events vary by branch location.
-Raising awareness and support in your local community, helping drive our reach and impact to achieve our mission.
Before applying, please consider the key requirements of a volunteer:
-Must be 18 years or over.
-Minimum 12-month commitment to ensure consistency for wish children and their families.
-Complete a comprehensive background check, including interview, reference checks, a Working with Children Check (or equivalent for your State/Territory), and a National Background Check.
-Complete comprehensive online induction training within the first 6 weeks, so at least a basic level of technical skill is required, plus access to a personal email and a suitable device, such as a laptop.
-Attend monthly meetings on a weekday evening once a month.
-Have access to reliable transport to attend meetings, wishes and fundraising events.
