We were thrilled to welcome, Heidi Biggin, to our Learmonth Street site this week.

Heidi visited with her Guide Dog, Freya, to share her experience taking part in the Ballarat Foundation Dancing With Our Stars. Her story sparked great conversation with our team and participants about confidence, community and showing what is possible.

After the chat, Heidi visited our Art room to meet participants and see how our creative programs support people to express themselves, build skills and connect with others.

We are wishing Heidi all the very best for the Gala event this Saturday night. The whole McCallum community is cheering her on!

Recently, Our St Arnaud crew braved the cold for the Fight MND Big Freeze , with participants and team members taking the plunge to support the fight against Motor Neurone Disease.

The Big Freeze has become an Australian tradition that brings communities together to raise awareness and vital funds for MND research. It was a great chance for our St Arnaud team to come together, share some laughs and get behind a cause that makes a real difference for individuals, families and communities.

A huge thank you to Weirs IGA Supermarket St Arnaud for generously donating the ice that made our Big Freeze possible.

Last week we welcomed the 2026 Future Shapers - Community Leaders cohort to our Neerim Crescent depot for a behind‑the‑scenes look at our recycling operations.

The visit highlighted how McCallum participates in the circular economy, reduces waste and creates inclusive employment for nearly 200 people with disability, giving back to the community in many meaningful ways across Western Victoria.

CONTAINER DEPOSIT SCHEME - KINGS BIRTHDAY CLOSURE

Both our McCallum Container Deposit Scheme (CDS) sites at Butt Street, Canadian and Neerim Crescent, Mitchell Park will be closed on Monday, June 8th due to the Kings Birthday Public Holiday.

We will reopen on Tuesday, June 9th at 9am as normal.

GOOD NEWS STORY from The G!

Peter, Les and Charmaine had an unforgettable night at the MCG for the Geelong vs Carlton match, thanks to the AFL Community Ticketing Program and the support of McCallum team members Kit and Jess.

The Blues got the win and Pete’s smile said it all. He is absolutely beaming. 😍
Even with a Cats defeat, Les and Charmaine still loved the energy of a big stadium crowd and the excitement of being part of a major event.

Applications are now open for the Sport Access Foundation Grants!

Young Australians with disability can now apply for a Sport Access Foundation grant to help with the cost of getting active, joining a team or taking their sporting goals to the next level.

These grants support children and young people aged 7 to 17 by helping cover things like equipment, uniforms, coaching or travel. It is a great opportunity for families who need a little extra support to keep their kids doing what they love.
