Dear HiveMinders,
On 30th July 2025, the HiveMind Community Apiary Ballarat Inc. Committee resolved to wind up the group. All material and cash assets will be transferred to Ballarat Regional Beekeepers Association Inc. a likeminded and aligned community based Association which will take over its operations from Spring. Former volunteers of HiveMind Community Apiary will continue their relationship with the Apiary through Ballarat Regional Beekeepers Association Inc.

Earlier this year we received funding from Australia Post to deliver sessions for local budding young beekeepers.

We are currently taking expressions of interest from young people aged 10 - 18yrs to participate in the range of open hive experiences and mentoring at the HiveMind Community Apiary during Spring and summer.

Sessions will be held on Sunday afternoons between 2pm-4pm. *Please note, children aged 10 -12years must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

To register interest please email [email protected] or message us.

At the Apiary today doing a mini Working Bee. A little too cool to work the bees, but fun in our Pollinator Friendly Demonstration Garden weeding, pruning and pulling out some slightly out of control Lambs Ear. Lots of raking and sweeping. Top effort. Thanks Scott, Sue, Dan and Amanda. 🐝

Packdown for the HiveMind Community Apiary long langstroth hive yesterday at Barkly Square, Ballarat East. Took 3 beautiful frames for harvesting. Solid bee numbers in the hive. Lovely docile productive bees. Beautiful first season for this colony. 🐝
