You're welcome to pre submit any questions for any of our presenters before the night, otherwise there will be opportunities on the evening to ask your questions.

We have an unbelievable line up of presenters including; 📣

Dr Lachie Brennan - Obstetrician at OGB and Grampians Health with a strong interest for multiple pregnancy and birth. He will be discussing a range of topics around multiples pregnancies and birth and common scenarios encountered.🤰

Nicole - Social Worker at Grampians Health Services Ballarat and specialises in the Special Care Nursery ward for supporting parents of multiples that require extra support during SCN stays. 🏥

Belinda will also be joining us from the Ballarat City Council. Belinda will be discussing how MCHN can support parents of multiples in the community. 👩‍❤️‍👨

We will have a number of local families sharing their experiences from navigating feeding and comforting 2 babies, juggling other children with newborn twins and hear about the tips, tricks and equipment actually worth buying from those who understand the logistics of having multiple babies. ✅

Hear from our own committee about the supports we are providing to those currently pregnant with multiples and in the first years of life. 🤩

👶🏼 We’re excited to announce that Obstetrician Lachie Brennan will be joining us for our Antenatal Information Session on October 14th!

Lachie will be talking all things pregnancy and birth with multiples, including monitoring and care throughout twin and triplet pregnancies, birth planning and the options around vaginal birth vs caesarean birth, as well as some of the common scenarios families may encounter when birthing at Ballarat Base Hospital.

He’ll also chat about preparing for the possibility of an early delivery and special care needs, helping families understand what they may experience and what to expect if their babies require additional support after birth.

📣 GUEST SPEAKER ALERT! #1

👶🏼 We’re excited to announce that Dr Nelu, Ballarat Paediatrician and mum of premature twins, will be joining us for our Antenatal Information Session on October 14th!

Dr Nelu will be helping families understand what happens when multiples require additional support after birth, including some of the common treatments and supports provided in Special Care Nursery.

Topics will include CPAP, NGT feeding, glucose monitoring and treatment, IV antibiotics, jaundice and phototherapy, as well as discussing NICU transfers — including some of the potential reasons a baby may need to be transferred and gestational-age considerations around when babies can be cared for locally versus requiring transfer.

✨ A great opportunity for families to understand what additional care may look like and feel a little more prepared for the unexpected.
