ACWA member, Pathfinders, recently shared the story of a young man who exited care several years ago after spending time in foster care and later supported independent living.

At the time he left care, his future was uncertain. Then staff received a photo that brought a few smiles.

The young man had successfully completed his Army training and officially marched out in uniform.

Congratulations to the young man on his great achievement, and to the Pathfinders team who supported him along the way.

Stories like this are a powerful reminder that outcomes don't always happen immediately. Sometimes the impact of support, stability and positive relationships is only fully seen years later.

This week, Pathfinder Family Connect and Support team had the opportunity to attend the Men’s Health Pit Stop hosted by Durri ACMS, where they hosted an information stall and connected with community members throughout the day.

It was great to meet so many people, share information about our services, and yarn about the supports available for individuals and families in our community.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our stall. We enjoyed connecting with community members and working alongside local organisations to support health and wellbeing.

A heartfelt thank you to the students, families, and staff of St Pius Primary School for helping arrange the donation of bread from Gift of Bread to the Jordan Café.

Simple acts of generosity can make a real difference. Through this partnership, quality food that might otherwise go to waste is shared with our community, helping us provide hospitality, connection, and care to those who visit the café.

We are grateful for the compassion and community spirit shown by St Pius Primary School and Gift of Bread. Together, we are creating a more welcoming and inclusive community for all.

Thank You Bindaree Food Group

Pathfinders Women and Children’s Refuge in Inverell would like to sincerely thank Bindaree Food Group and its staff for their generous donation of grocery items and gift cards.

The donation was collected as part of Bindaree’s International Women’s Day initiative, which encouraged staff to support local charities through the donation of essential items. The contribution will directly assist women and children staying at the refuge, as well as families transitioning into safe and independent accommodation.

A special thank you to everyone at Bindaree Food Group who contributed to this initiative, and to Brendan Tulczyn and Mackenzie Berkley for helping coordinate the donation.
