Bhutanese Student Association- BSA,  Armidale, NSW, Australia The Bhutanese Students’ Association- BSA,, Armidale, NSW, Australia was instituted on 18 March 20 Objectives of BSA- Armidale are to:
1.

Organize events of national significance and importance to sustain and promote Bhutanese values, tradition and culture;
2. Promote interactions and solidarity amongst Bhutanese communities and friends of Bhutan through social gatherings including celebrations of national festivals;
3. Promote awareness about Bhutan by participating in events and festivals organized by the UNE and other agencies in

Armidale and nearby regions;
4. Provide information and guidance to Bhutanese students aspiring to study in Armidale;
5. Assist new students/members in finding accommodation, studies and addressing other issues such as emotional and mental distress;
6. Provide necessary support, including financial support to the members facing hardships;
7. Promote collaboration and networking between Bhutan and the University of New England.

H.E. Choktrul Jamyang Nyima Rinpoche’s Auspicious Visit to Armidale (1–3 June 2026)

The Bhutanese community of Armidale was deeply honoured to receive the gracious visit of H.E. Choktrul Jamyang Nyima Rinpoche from 1–3 June 2026.

On 2 June, Rinpoche compassionately bestowed the Drelcho Wang, Wangdu Soldep Lung, and Zangchoe Monlam Lung. The Drelcho practice was respectfully conducted in Rinpoche’s presence, providing devotees with the opportunity to receive his blessings and guidance.

Rinpoche also met with members of the Bhutanese community, offering blessings and precious Kha-Lop (Dharma teachings and advice). In addition, he kindly brought Guru Statues and Kuthangs for the spiritual benefit and accumulation of merit for the community.

Rinpoche will depart Armidale on 3 June, concluding this short yet highly auspicious visit.

On 30 May 2026, the Bhutanese Students Association (BSA) hosted the event "Rotary Club Meets Bhutan." The primary objective of the evening was to showcase the unique culture, traditions, and identity of Bhutan to members of the Rotary Club and the wider community. The event was attended by more than 100 guest, including Rotary Club members and Bhutanese community members. The program featured a presentation highlighting Bhutan's distinct cultural heritage, national values, and developmental philosophy, along with traditional Bhutanese dances, a photo booth displaying Bhutanese themes, and an exhibition of Bhutanese handicrafts. These activities provided an opportunity for guests to experience Bhutan's rich cultural heritage while supporting the Bhutanese community in various ways. The event also aimed to strengthen friendship and mutual understanding between the Bhutanese community and the Rotary Club, foster cultural exchange, and promote greater appreciation of Bhutan's traditions and way of life. The event successfully brought together participants in a spirit of friendship, cultural appreciation, and collaboration, contributing to stronger community engagement and intercultural understanding

On 23rd May 2026, the Bhutanese Students Association in Armidale organized a 3-star archery tournament. There were four teams participating in the competition. The event was organized to welcome four new enthusiastic archers to the team. Team Druk Falcon emerged as the winners, while Team Himalayan Wolves secured the runners-up position.
