Are you attending the AMSA Rural Health Summit 2026 in Armidale, NSW?

Come visit us at the PIF booth and hear from psychiatry registrar Dr Amelia Varua who will be presenting on ‘Training, living and working in rural psychiatry: lessons from Armidale & Coffs Harbour’.

Dr Varua is passionate about rural mental health and despite a 16-month-old toddler (who loves to create chaos), has found working rurally to be foundational for a balanced medical career with time to enjoy yoga, live music, cooking, psychologically layered films, and camping on her conservation block bordering Warrabah National Park.
