This week, we turned our MYSA dance studio into a pop-up fashion shop 🛍️

Through our Chin Wag program, clients practiced their English skills by handling fake money, asking questions, discussing items and navigating everyday shopping conversations in a supportive, low-pressure environment.

And since there's no fun in leaving a shop empty-handed… they got to take home everything they 'bought' 💜

We’re looking for volunteers 💜
MYSA volunteers help support young people from multicultural backgrounds as they settle into life in Australia, build confidence and connect with their community.

There are lots of ways to get involved, from supporting events and programs to tutoring, mentoring, helping with driving hours and assisting with behind-the-scenes admin support.

You don’t need heaps of experience, just a willingness to help out and be part of something meaningful!

Volunteering with MYSA is a chance to support young people directly, build new skills and experience and be part of a welcoming, diverse community - what more could you want?

If you’re interested, we’d love to hear from you! Head to our website to find out more and apply: mysa.com.au/volunteer/ 💛

And yes… the food in these photos? It really does look that good (and tastes even better 😍)

We cater for:

Every young person deserves to feel like they belong 💜

Layla arrived in Adelaide at 13 after fleeing Syria with her family. In her own words, she shares what it was like to start over and what changed when she found a place of connection and support at MYSA.

At MYSA, we support young people from refugee and migrant backgrounds to feel seen, supported and connected as they navigate life in Australia.
Head to our website to learn more about how you can get involved: mysa.com.au ❤️

Today is National Sorry Day.

We remember and acknowledge the Stolen Generations: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children who were taken from their families, communities and Country. This caused lasting harm that continues across generations and today is about recognising that truth and the strength of those who survived it.

Tomorrow also marks the start of National Reconciliation Week. Reconciliation is not a moment in time, but an ongoing commitment to listen, learn and ensure First Nations voices are centred in how we acknowledge and understand this country’s past and build its future.

At MYSA, we’re taking this week to reflect and learn. We encourage our amazing community to do the same 💛
