🎬 National tour starts this week!
We’re thrilled to announce that the national tour of We Are Not Powerless kicks off soon.

Beginning in Orange, NSW on 29 May and running through to 29 June, the tour brings more than 20 screenings to cinemas, community centres and schools across the country.

Join us — bring your family and friends — for a powerful film about the courage and resilience of refugees in Indonesia.

🌸✨ Nowruz Mubarak from Cisarua Learning! ✨🌸
We are absolutely thrilled to have been part of the incredible team that brought the Nowruz Festival to life here in Adelaide, South Australia — and what a celebration it was! Hundreds of community members came together and the energy was simply electric. 🎉
Did you know? Nowruz — meaning New Day — is the New Year celebrated by millions across Afghanistan, Iran, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Syria, Iraq, Turkey and Turkmenistan. It marks the first day of spring 🌱 and the start of a fresh, abundant and blessed year. A new day, a new beginning — we love that!
The joy in the room was something truly special. Hazara, Iranian, Egyptian, Turkish, Pakistani, Indian communities and more — men and women, young and old — all coming together over culture, food, music and laughter. 💃🕺🍽️🎶
Moments like these remind us why community matters. And for the younger generation getting to celebrate their heritage with such pride and colour — that right there is everything. 🙌❤️
Here’s to new days, new beginnings, and the beauty of coming together. 🌍

Today, as we celebrate International Women’s Day, Cisarua Learning Ltd. honours the extraordinary contribution of Australian women who have made our work possible.
Since 2016, they have helped us organise countless events and raise funds for refugee education across this vast country. We say it openly and proudly: the overwhelming majority of our key organisers are women.
On one hand, they are driven by deep compassion and an unshakeable commitment to their values — sharing, dignity, and giving hope to people who have been forced to flee everything they knew.
On the other hand, they are fierce. Strong enough to challenge cruel systems, unjust policies, and the inhumane treatment of refugees. They show up — day in, day out — to organise protests, lead advocacy, and run campaigns when it would be easier to look away.
Every time a refugee child graduates from one of our schools. Every time a family receives sponsorship for resettlement to a third country. That moment is a testament to a woman’s dedication, effort, and quiet, powerful work behind the scenes.
Happy Women’s Day. We don’t just appreciate the women who walk alongside us — we are who we are because of them. 💙
