🐾💙 COULD YOUR DOG BE IN PAIN? 💙🐾

Dogs cannot tell us with words when something hurts—and some can be very good at hiding their discomfort.

Often, the first clue is simply a change from what is normal for your dog.

Signs to watch for may include:

🐾 Excessive licking of one area
🐾 Changes in behaviour
🐾 Loss of appetite
🐾 Limping or stiffness
🐾 Difficulty getting up or lying down
🐾 Excessive panting while resting
🐾 Restlessness or pacing
🐾 Hiding or seeking isolation
🐾 Sensitivity to touch
🐾 Changes in sleeping patterns
🐾 More whining, whimpering or vocalising
🐾 A hunched posture, lowered head or unusual stance

These signs can have many different causes and do not necessarily confirm that your dog is in pain.

However, if you notice a change that is new, persistent or concerning, please speak with your veterinarian. Early assessment may help identify the cause and ensure your dog receives the care they need. 🩺🐶

As dogs grow older, their senses can change too — including their incredible sense of smell. 🐶💙

Senior dogs may take a little longer to investigate and process all those interesting scents, but that doesn’t mean the adventure has to stop!

🌿 Let them sniff
🌸 Let them explore
🐾 Let them take their time

A slow sniffy walk can be a wonderful way for an older dog to enjoy their surroundings at their own pace. ❤️
