Young Adelaide Voices is a community choir with a dual focus on excellence and fellowship. In a context of fun and friendship, the choir has enjoyed great success since its creation in 1988. The choir has 150 members aged 5 to 35 years old, placed in 5 choirs according to age and experience.

On the afternoon of September 6, Aurora Vocal Ensemble & meditation facilitator Chelsea Pyman will be hosting two sessions of music & meditation at the beautiful Yitpi Yartapuultiku, translating to ‘the soul of Port Adelaide’.

A gorgeous spot along the river, with a living shoreline, nature play area, both Men’s (Pangkarrila) and Women’s (Ngangkingka) areas, and lots of lush native plants – you’ll want to arrive early to explore. We're so excited to spend time in this spot, connecting through music.

Introducing Chelsea, our meditation facilitator at Sanctuary!

Chelsea is a yoga teacher, lover of all things nature, a staunch activist, and human sunshine.

Chelsea has been part of every iteration of Sanctuary, and we’re stoked to have her on board for another year of welcoming people into rest and awareness alongside Aurora Vocal Ensemble. Having taught at The Dock Studios, WOMAD,
and Adelaide University, she is a powerhouse of mindfulness.

Previously known as 'Tarab', Aurora Vocal Ensemble return for guided meditation sessions with Sanctuary on September 6, 2pm & 4.30pm at the glorious Yitpi Yartapuultiku.

Inspired by the Sonic Meditations of Pauline Oliveros, Aurora will experiment with the ‘fully embodied pursuit’ of ‘attending to sounds and to the world’ through music and somatic techniques.

At Young Adelaide Voices, we want people of all ages to sing!

Whether you're a seasoned vocalist or a newcomer, our choir offers the perfect blend of foundation music and choral skills development. And we want you to join our Community Choir for the Spring season of 2026 !

With rehearsals over August, September, and October, you’ll finish the season with a performance at Adelaide Sings, put on by Australian National Choral Association - SA on Sunday 18 October.
