Not for Profit Organisation - Shared interest Patchwork and Quilting

Quilting is so much more than 'making a quilt' - along the way there are friendships and sharing, charity and giving, education and enjoyment. You should never be bored or alone as a quilter because the process draws us together and gives us purpose. When participating on the SA Quilters page:
1. Be kind and courteous
Treat everyone with respect. Any type of disrespectful, negative, disruptive behaviour is not permitted. Let us keep this all about quilting and community.
2. No hate speech or bullying
Everyone wants to feel safe. Bullying of any kind is not tolerated under any circumstances, and negative comments about race, religion, politics, culture, sexual orientation, gender, or identity will not be tolerated.
3. Respect everyone's privacy
Being part of this group requires mutual trust. Genuine, meaningful discussions make groups great, but may also be sensitive and private. Be aware that SA Quilters Facebook is a public page so what is shared will be available for public view.
4. Copyright rules apply
Please do not share any parts of written pattern and its photos, charts, or videos without written permission from the copyright holders. Always acknowledge the source. If you wish to share, you can link directly to the maker's page. Acknowledgement of Country. Members of SA Quilters recognise the traditional owners of the country where we live. We celebrate the diversity of Indigenous people and their enduring culture and connections to the land and waters of Australia.

Today's workshop today - Dynamic Dresdens with Heather Ford was very well received. The room was so quiet as everyone was working on their project, such concentration.

Heather brought lots of different types of dresdens with her to show the variety you can get with this versatile type of block.

Here are some pics of what we did today

A Special Quilt for a Special Winner!

The beautiful Rainbow Sprouts quilt, first prize in DPAQ’s 2026 Raffle, has found its new home! 💖

The lucky winner was 10-year-old Matilda Pitman, who purchased her winning ticket from the DPAQ stand at the Royal Darwin Show. Her mum, Jemima, collected the quilt last week and shared that Matilda was absolutely thrilled to win!

What makes this story even more special is that Matilda has just received her very first sewing machine. Perhaps winning this beautiful quilt will inspire her to discover the wonderful world of quilting and start creating quilts of her own!

Who knows? We might have a future quilter in the making!

Congratulations again, Matilda! We hope you enjoy your beautiful Rainbow Sprouts quilt.
