One Girl

One Girl One Girl is a non-profit organisation that's changing the world, one girl at a time. When you educate a girl, everything changes.

When you educate a girl, everything changes. 🌍

Changemakers for At One Girl, we break down the barriers that girls face in accessing an education. We do this by running girl-led programs in Sierra Leone and Uganda to drive positive change for girls and their communities. Because educating girls is the number one way to fight climate change, to reduce poverty, and to create a fair

and sustainable planet! Her health, status, income, and entire future changes for the better, and she’ll go on to educate her (smaller, healthier) family and community. The ripple effects are incredible – and best of all, everyone in her community will benefit. This page is for people to find out more about One Girl, our programs, fundraising campaigns, as well as discuss and learn about all things girls’ education. The first week of June is already behind us.

That means we're one week closer to June 30 and one week closer to the start of a new school year in Sierra Leone.

For girls like Fatima, staying in school depends on more than determination. It depends on having the support needed to get there, from transport and meals to school supplies and mentoring.

After losing both of her parents at a young age, school once felt completely out of reach. Today, with support from One Girl, she's back in the classroom and working towards her dream of becoming a doctor.

This EOFY, we're raising vital funds to help girls like Fatima return to school and continue their education.

Will you help us get there?

Donate before June 30 via the link in our bio or head to https://ap1.hubs.ly/y0Yc3W0 💛

As we head into June and the final month of our EOFY appeal, we want you to meet Fatima 💛

Fatima lives in Tonkolili District in Sierra Leone, one of the country’s poorest regions. After losing both of her parents at a young age, school felt completely out of reach. For a time, she was sent away from home and spent her days working in the market instead of learning in a classroom.

But Fatima never gave up on her education.

Today, with support from One Girl, she’s back in school and working towards her dream of becoming a doctor so she can help others in her community.

Because behind every donation is a girl with goals, potential, and a future worth fighting for.

This EOFY, help girls like Fatima stay in school and keep learning.

Head to https://ap1.hubs.ly/y0WJ1Q0 to donate before June 30 ✨

Tomorrow is Menstrual Hygiene Day 🩸

A period should never stop a girl from getting an education.

But for many girls in Sierra Leone, managing menstruation without access to menstrual products, clean facilities, or support can make staying in school much harder.

Missing just a few days of school each month can affect confidence, learning, and long-term education opportunities.

At One Girl, we work alongside girls in Sierra Leone to help remove these barriers through:
📚 Education and mentoring
🩸 Access to menstrual health support
🤝 Partnerships with organisations like
💛 Ongoing care from our local team
🎒 Support to help girls stay in school

Because every girl deserves to learn with dignity.

This EOFY, help girls stay in school and keep learning. Donate at https://ap1.hubs.ly/y0WtXk0 before June 30. 💫

70% of women in Sierra Leone cannot read or write.

Behind that statistic are generations of girls and young women who have been denied access to education and opportunity.

At One Girl, we help remove the barriers that stop girls from staying in school by providing support like:

📚 School supplies
🍛 Daily meals
🚌 Transport to and from school
💛 Mentoring and ongoing support
🩸 Menstrual health products

Because education changes more than one life. It changes families, communities, and futures.

This EOFY, help girls stay in school and keep learning.

Meet Fatima, a determined young girl from Sierra Leone with a dream of becoming a doctor.

But like many girls, her future is at risk.

After losing both of her parents at a young age, Fatima was sent away instead of going to school. She spent her days working in the market, carrying heavy loads and trying to survive.

“I feel proud to have the opportunity to be supported by One Girl. With all the things I need for school, I can focus on my studies.”

Today, with support from One Girl, Fatima is back in school and working towards the future she deserves.

But right now, rising costs are making it harder for families to afford education and when money is tight, girls are often the first to miss out.

📽️ Watch Fatima’s story and see why education matters.

This End of Financial Year, your tax-deductible donation before June 30 can help girls like Fatima stay in school and keep moving towards their future.

“Women speaking up for themselves and for those around them is the strongest force we have to change the world.” 💛 – Melinda French Gates

At One Girl, we see this every day. When girls are educated and supported, they grow into women who use their voices to lead, advocate, and create change in their communities.

That’s why our work goes beyond the classroom. We support girls in Sierra Leone with education, mentoring, safeguarding, and community support so they can step into their futures with confidence.

Because when girls are empowered to speak up, everything changes. ✨

Creating safer schools starts with education and awareness. 💛

Recently, One Girl students helped hang safeguarding posters around their school, making sure important information about safety, rights, and reporting support is visible to everyone.

These posters are more than signs on a wall. They help girls understand their rights, recognise unsafe situations, and know where to turn if they need support.

In countries like Sierra Leone, girls often face barriers that go beyond school fees. Safety concerns, gender-based violence, and lack of access to information can all impact whether a girl stays in school.

That’s why at One Girl, we take a holistic approach to education. Alongside scholarships and school supplies, we provide mentoring, safeguarding support, and work closely with schools and communities to help girls feel safe, supported, and empowered.

Because every girl deserves the chance to learn in an environment where she feels protected. 📚✨
