One Girl One Girl is a non-profit organisation that's changing the world, one girl at a time. When you educate a girl, everything changes.

When you educate a girl, everything changes. 🌍

Changemakers for At One Girl, we break down the barriers that girls face in accessing an education. We do this by running girl-led programs in Sierra Leone and Uganda to drive positive change for girls and their communities. Because educating girls is the number one way to fight climate change, to reduce poverty, and to create a fair and sustainable planet! Her health, status, income, and entire future changes for the better, and she’ll go on to educate her (smaller, healthier) family and community. The ripple effects are incredible – and best of all, everyone in her community will benefit. This page is for people to find out more about One Girl, our programs, fundraising campaigns, as well as discuss and learn about all things girls’ education. For over a decade, this community has shown what is possible when we back girls’ education. Together, we’ve built classrooms, funded scholarships, and stood alongside courageous young women as they rewrote their futures in Sierra Leone. 💛

Today, we are sharing the news that One Girl will be officially winding down operations and closing our doors at the 𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲.

Educating a girl doesn't just change her future. It changes the future of her family, her community, and generations to come. 💛

When girls have access to education, they're more likely to stay healthy, earn an income, become leaders, and create opportunities for those around them.

That's why at One Girl, we work alongside girls, families, schools, and communities in Sierra Leone to help break down the barriers that keep girls out of school.

Because when one girl is educated, the impact reaches far beyond the classroom. 📚✨

Before the school day begins, many girls have already spent hours helping at home. 💛

From collecting water and preparing meals to caring for younger siblings, household responsibilities can make getting to school even harder.
In Sierra Leone, these daily challenges are one of many barriers that can stand between a girl and her education.

At One Girl, we work alongside girls, families, schools, and communities to help remove those barriers, so every girl has the opportunity to learn, grow, and build the future she chooses.

Because no girl should have to miss out on an education simply because of the responsibilities she carries.

Did you know? 💛

Educated women invest up to 90% of their income back into their families and communities.

That's why girls' education is one of the most powerful investments we can make.
When girls stay in school, the benefits extend far beyond the classroom. Families become stronger, communities thrive, and future generations have greater opportunities.

At One Girl, we're working alongside girls in Sierra Leone to help make that future possible.

40% of girls in Sierra Leone are married before their 18th birthday.

For too many girls, child marriage means the end of their education, the loss of their independence, and fewer opportunities to choose their own future.

At One Girl, we believe every girl deserves the chance to stay in school and decide what comes next for her life.

That's why we work alongside girls, families, schools, and communities to help remove the barriers that can prevent girls from completing their education. Through scholarships, mentoring, safeguarding, and community support, we're helping girls stay in school and build brighter futures.

Because every girl deserves the chance to grow up on her own terms.

Periods should never stand in the way of an education. ❤️ 🩸
This month, One Girl students in Sierra Leone came together for a session on menstrual health and the importance of reusable sanitary pads.

Led by our incredible partners at Rainbow Initiative, the session explored menstrual hygiene, challenged common myths, and gave students practical knowledge about how to use, clean, and care for reusable sanitary pads.

Most importantly, it created a safe space for girls to ask questions, share their experiences, and build confidence in managing their periods with dignity.

When girls have access to menstrual health education and the right support, they're better equipped to stay in school and continue learning.

A huge thank you to Rainbow Initiative for partnering with us to empower girls through education and health.

Because every girl deserves the opportunity to learn without barriers. ❤️

There are only hours left to make an impact.

💛 A special message from Sia, One Girl's Programs and Partnerships Director in Sierra Leone.

Sia knows firsthand what it is like to grow up in Sierra Leone and the life-changing power that education can have for girls.

Every day, Sia works alongside girls, families, and communities to help remove the barriers stopping girls from accessing education. In this special message, Sia shares why your support matters and why this EOFY appeal is so important.

With less than 48 hours remaining until EOFY ends, we are running out of time.

Your tax-deductible donation can help provide meals, transport, school supplies, mentoring, and the ongoing support girls need to stay in school.

✨ There is still time to make a difference.
Please watch Sia's message and, if you can, make a donation via the link in our bio or visit: https://ap1.hubs.ly/H011y-F0
