10th July 2017 Dear Principal, This is an invitation for your students to take apart in our annual My Vote My Voice event and to make a brief presentation in the Legislative Council Chamber, Parliament of Victoria on Friday 1 September 2017. This year’s theme is My Vote My Voice: Women in Local Democracy – towards gender equality. Being interested in Jewish culture and history for a long time, I joined in a celebration of the Jewish festival of Passover held by National Council of Jewish Women Australia on 27 March 2017. A Passover Seder is a commemoration of the day when the Jews escaped from slavery in Egypt led by Moses. At the September national teleconference for the National Council of Young Women of Australia (NCYWA) working group of the NCWA Board, attendees were Kate Wright (ACT), and ourselves plus two young women from NSW, a secondary student from ACT and NCWA President Barbara Baikie and Secretary Yvonne Robson. They were interested in YoungNCWVic’s regular use of Facebook and blog and asked us to email them each post we do in the future. There was discussion of a possible logo and banner head for NCYWA and Gauri agreed to send contact information for Viola Design. There was a discussion about a possible Young Women’s Day or leadership workshop as pre-conference event for the NCWA Mid Term Conference in Canberra next June.
