Oxfam is working alongside affected communities and local partners in Yemen, Syria, Lebanon and Palestine the emergency water and hygiene kits families urgently need to survive.

Conflict across the Middle East is cutting people off from safe, clean water, causing another crisis these families did not choose.

Comment “Safe Water” if you’d like to support our work that could help us deliver clean water and hygiene kits today- and rebuild lasting water sources for the future.

Humanity is Not Negotiable.

Across the Middle East, thousands of innocent people are being killed, injured and displaced every day, while the global economy is being upended. All for a pointless and illegal war driven by ego and political games.

Years of conflict and economic collapse have deepened poverty - destroying livelihoods and forcing repeated displacement. This latest escalation is compounding the suffering of people who have already been forced to rebuild over and over again.

Our humanity is measured by how we respond to the suffering of others. It’s time for the Australian government to show theirs.

Sign the petition now and demand the Prime Minister speak out against these crimes. and stand for what so many Australians know is right.

For the first time in years, Rawya’s family has reliable access to safe, clean water.

As the main provider for a household of nine in Yemen, Rawya once spent hours each day securing water, often from unsafe sources, just to meet her family’s basic needs. Today, that has changed.

Working with local partners, Oxfam supported the installation of a solar-powered water system that now provides consistent, safe water to 4,650 people across 665 households. Without the need for costly fuel or unreliable pumps, families can access water they know is safe to drink every day.

“We carried water on our backs for an entire year before Rawya managed to connect us to the water supply. Without her, our situation would be much worse. Now, thanks to this system, we no longer have to struggle with expensive diesel costs.”- Rawya’s mother Fatima

Access to safe water is already transforming daily life improving health, restoring dignity, and giving families like Rawya’s the time and stability to focus on what comes next.

What part of Rawya’s story stayed with you?

The 20 richest Australians now hold more wealth than 30% of all Australians.
There is something fundamentally wrong with this picture. When the government allows extreme wealth to skyrocket while so many people are under financial
pressure, it shows a system that benefits the wealthiest Australians, instead of everyone having an equal chance.
The Government claims there is not enough money for housing, healthcare, climate action and essential services, while failing to properly tax wealth. It’s
important to reduce the gap between the super-rich and the rest of society before it is too late. The Government must close tax loopholes for big corporations and the richest 1%🚫💸
SHARE THIS POST AND TAKE COLLECTIVE ACTION TO TAX THE SUPER RICH. đź’µ
Email the Treasurer now at the link in our bio, demanding urgent tax reform. 📧

Oxfam Australia is proud to stand in solidarity with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people on the journey for truth and justice.
First Nations peoples have long called for a process of truth‑telling about our history, to acknowledge and address injustices and move forward together.
As the Walk for Truth comes to a close tomorrow, there’s still time to take action toward truth‑telling and reconciliation.

Kicking off with National Sorry Day on 26 May, Oxfam Australia stands in solidarity with all First Nations communities, marking National Reconciliation Week 2026. The theme this year, All In, is a call for all Australians to commit wholeheartedly to reconciliation every single day.

Reconciliation will not happen by itself, and it will not happen without all of us.

By taking positive actions every day, from calling out racism when you see it, to learning the true history of First Nations peoples, we can strive to create a more reconciled Australia for all. 🖤💛❤️

This (Ebola) outbreak is hitting a country already stretched to breaking point. Ongoing conflict and years of aid cuts have deepened a humanitarian crisis of staggering scale: One in four people are going hungry.” -- Dr. Manenji Mangudu, Oxfam Country Director in the DRC.

There are currently over 400 suspected Ebola cases and 89 suspected deaths in the DRC, Oxfam and its partners are mounting an emergency response in Ituri, providing clean water, sanitation and health awareness to affected communities.
