We are a Non-Governmental Organization working with women, children, and youth in marginalized communities, focusing on Digital Literacy and Good Governance in Zambia. The Lizu Community Network empowers citizens to realize their influential voice, enabling them to shape essential services, demand accountability from authorities, and promote transparency. This is achieved by equipping individuals

with essential skills and resources, fostering an environment where they actively participate in societal development. The organization has emerged in response to the pressing concern of growing inequality in technology, digital, and information sectors, which has led to increased poverty and diminished opportunities. Lizu Community Network aims to amplify these issues, engaging partners and stakeholders to collectively address the challenges faced by the majority of Zambian citizens.

This morning, we featured on SmoothFm 90.1 discussing Digital spaces, Online scams, and the risks of human trafficking linked to online platforms.

We emphasized the need for increased awareness on digital hygiene, digital rights, and online safety, especially for young people who are often targeted through fake job offers, scholarships, or online relationships. Staying informed and alert is key to preventing exploration and building safer digital communities.

As Financial Literacy Month comes to an end, we reflect on the importance of equipping communities with the knowledge and tools to manage and protect their finances both online and offline.

Last year, we had the privilege of working with women in Mtaya community, supporting savings groups involved in village banking (chilimba) with practical digital safety skills. These sessions focused on helping participants safeguard their money online while building confidence in using digital platforms. We also introduced simple tools to strengthen transparency and accountability within their groups.

This year, we aim to go even further, reaching more communities and creating more impactful conversations like these.

We were live on Breeze FM 89.3, engaging in a conversation on "The role of young people in Digital Rights and Safety."

We spoke about how young people are not just users of digital spaces, but are key stakeholders in shaping them. From promoting responsible online behavior to advocating for safer, more inclusive digital environments, young people's voices matter now more than ever.

Thank you to Francyn Miti for hosting us and to Breezefm for the platform and to everyone who tuned in and contributed to the conversation.
The future of digital safety is youth-led, and we’re proud to be part it.

Watch, listen, and be inspired.

At the Poetry Slam and Public Debate supported by ActionAid ( People Power Zambia ) and TaxEd Alliance, Isaac Kanyinji brought his words to life with an unapologetically honest performance of his original poem, delivering truth, creativity, and a powerful message on Tax Justice.

Isaac, through his poem challenged perspectives, sparked reflection, and inspired everyone in the room with his spoken word. This was more than just a performance, it was the power of youth expression, storytelling, and speaking truth through art.

Now it’s your turn to experience it,
Press play and let the words speak to you.

Yesterday, we facilitated a session aimed at strengthening the capacity of Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) and Organisations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs) to effectively use digital storytelling and media advocacy as tools for change.

Participants were equipped to amplify their voices, raise awareness on the rights of persons with disabilities, and contribute to advocacy efforts towards the ratification of the African Disability Protocol (ADP).
This activity was conducted under the project Strengthening Civil Society Regional Partnerships in favour of the ratification of the African Disability Protocol (ADP), implemented by Cheshire Homes Society of Zambia and DAPP Zambia , with support from the European Union.

Together, we continue to build stronger and more inclusive advocacy spaces.
