SOME STORIES DESERVE TO BE TOLD. SOME LIVES DESERVE A SECOND CHANCE. ❤️
Today’s consultation meeting with our EVY Change Agents was more than just a meeting. It was a moment to pause, listen and reflect on the lives that are being touched through our work.
Change Agents from Chipata Trades Mini Hospital, Katandala, Kagunda, Namuseche Clinic and Jerusalem came together to share what they are seeing on the ground and honestly, some of the stories were both heartbreaking and inspiring. 🥺❤️
Behind every case is a young person with dreams, fears and a future they still deserve to have.
💪 FROM A DIFFICULT SITUATION TO HOPE — Katandala
A young girl, over 16, walked into a health facility looking for help. Through the support of a Change Agent.
At first, talking to the family wasn’t easy. But through patience, counseling and mediation, things began to change.
Today, instead of facing everything alone, her family is supporting her and preparing to help her return to school after her pregnancy.
Sometimes, all a young person needs is someone willing to listen without judging. ❤️
A GIRL WHO CHOSE HER FUTURE — Kagunda
Two young girls between the ages of 16 and 19 found themselves facing early pregnancy and child marriage situations that could easily have changed the direction of their lives forever.
But one of them found the courage to walk away from the marriage.
With counseling, community support and reproductive health education, she returned to school. 🎒❤️
She now has another chance to dream, learn and become who she wants to be.
WHEN HOPE FEELS LOST — Mchini
A young schoolgirl experienced her first sexual encounter and later discovered she was pregnant.
Confused, frightened and feeling like there was no way forward, she considered taking unsafe measures.
But someone stepped in.
Through compassionate counseling and conversations with her family, she was supported to make safer choices. Today, she still has a chance to continue her education and work towards the future she once imagined.
And sometimes, that second chance is everything. ❤️
WHY THIS WORK MATTERS
These stories remind us that our work isn’t simply about numbers, reports or activities.
It is about people.
It is about listening.
It is about giving young people hope when they feel like they have none.
It is about helping a girl find her way back to school.
It is about reminding a young person that one difficult moment does not have to define their entire life.
Today, we celebrate our Change Agents the people on the ground who listen, counsel, refer and stand beside young people when they need support the most.
Because sometimes, one conversation can change a life. One referral can open a door. And one person who refuses to give up on a young person can change their entire future.
That some achieve great success is proof to all that others can achieve it as well.
