Generation Dialogue Public Meeting in Petauke District! ✨🌍
On 24th April 2026, Young Happy Health and Safe (YHHS), in partnership with Management for Health (M4H) and with funding support from GIZ Zambia, officially conducted the Generation Dialogue (GD) Public Meeting in Petauke District.
The project successfully brought together younger and older generations to openly discuss critical community issues such as sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), HIV prevention, early pregnancies, and gender-based violence (GBV). Through these dialogues, participants strengthened mutual understanding and cooperation, fostering a healthier and safer future. The initiative emphasized the importance of appreciating cultural traditions while adapting them to modern realities, ensuring relevance across generations. By engaging in these conversations, individuals were empowered to become Dialogue Champions leaders who value culture, promote respect, and work to improve lives for people of all ages. Ultimately, the project built bridges between generations, encouraged intergenerational learning, and reinforced community resilience.
During the first public meeting:
• Participants shared lessons learned across generations.
• Pledges were made to address harmful traditions while preserving positive cultural practices.
• Stakeholders including DEBS, DACA, and the District Health Office were called upon to collaborate in tackling GBV, HIV/AIDS, and teenage pregnancies.
Together, we are building a community where tradition and progress walk hand in hand

In the schools the LSHE Champions are reaching out to the learners through LSHE Clubs and direct stream through school’s curriculum creating safe spaces to openly discuss challenges and build peer support. LSHE is also integrated into carrier subjects, ensuring age-appropriate and culturally relevant content at every level.
Together we are Strengthening learners’ capacity to thrive, promoting positive gender relations and building a safer, healthier future for girls and boys alike

🌟 Promoting Learning, Unity & Community Action! 🌟

Young Happy Health and Safe (YHHS), with support from UNDP Zambia under the Spotlight Initiative, hosted a special learning exchange visit on 9th December 2025 in Chief Chanje’s Chiefdom, Chipangali District.
We were honored to welcome HRH Senior Chief Kafwimbi of the Lwa- Namwanga people (Muchinga Province) to the Village-Led One-Stop Center. The visit provided an important platform to share practical, community-driven strategies for ending Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and child marriage.

Young Happy, Healthy and Safe (YHHS), with support from UNDP (United Nations Development Programme), is implementing Spotlight Initiative 2.0, which focuses on eliminating Gender-Based Violence (GBV) among women and girls in Chipata and Katete districts of Eastern Province.
From 25th to 29th November 2025, YHHS conducted a training on Entrepreneurship Skills for 40 GBV Survivors in Chipangali District. This training was a truly empowering experience for the participating women, as it aimed to equip them with practical business skills to help them rebuild their lives and create sustainable livelihoods.

The sessions covered a wide range of topics, including Income Generating Activities (IGAs) such as crop farming, livestock production, and food processing. Participants were taught how to identify viable business opportunities, manage household income and expenditure, and develop effective marketing strategies.
Additionally, the training addressed key entrepreneurial concepts such as business seasonality, record keeping, and saving. The women also received guidance on working collaboratively in groups—an approach that helps strengthen teamwork, community support, and shared growth.
It is evident that these women are determined to transform their lives, and the knowledge gained during this training has positioned them on a strong path toward economic independence. We are proud to have contributed to their journey and look forward to witnessing their businesses grow.

Key takeaways include:
Income Generating Activities (IGAs) are a powerful tool for economic empowerment.
Effective financial management is essential for business success.
Identifying opportunities and implementing strategic marketing are crucial.
Teamwork and collaboration enhance business growth.
Proper record keeping and saving habits support long-term sustainability.
