🌊🐠 EXPERIENCING THE OCEAN THROUGH THE SENSES! 🐚💙
On Thursday, 29 October, our residents had the wonderful opportunity to visit the Two Oceans Aquarium in Cape Town for a special blind-friendly exhibition that brought the wonders of the ocean to life in a whole new way.
Through touch, smell and sound, our residents could explore and discover more about the ocean and the fascinating creatures that call it home. They had the opportunity to feel different types of coral and sea animals, listen to the sounds of penguins and frogs, and experience the unique scents of marine life. It was an exciting and enriching sensory experience! 🐧🐸
Experiences like these remind us that there are so many ways to explore, learn and connect with the world around us.
A heartfelt thank you to the Two Oceans Aquarium for creating such an inclusive experience and making the wonders of the ocean accessible to everyone! 💙

🏅 ST DUNSTAN’S LONG CANE RALLY 🤍
What a wonderful weekend of skill, determination and empowerment! 👏
The past weekend, our residents took part in the St Dunstan’s Long Cane Rally, celebrating the importance of independence, confidence and mobility for people who are blind and visually impaired.
At Innovation for the Blind, we believe that a visual impairment should never define a person’s potential. Through opportunities like these, we continue to encourage our residents to challenge themselves, build confidence and move forward with independence and pride. 💙
A big thank you to St Dunstan’s for hosting this meaningful event and creating a space where ability, perseverance and inclusion take centre stage!

On the 22nd, we had the pleasure of welcoming a group of German students to Innovation for the Blind as part of their outreach programme! ✨
At Innovation for the Blind, our mission is to make inclusion universal — creating a world where everyone is valued, respected and given the opportunity to reach their full potential, regardless of their disabilities.
Visits like these are an opportunity to build connections, broaden perspectives and remind us that inclusion starts with understanding, empathy and a willingness to learn from one another. By sharing our work and experiences, we hope to inspire a more inclusive world where everyone belongs. 💙

🐾💙 ’N SPESIALE Bederfdag vir ons Gidshonde!

Op 16 Oktober het Shell Worcester ’n heerlike Gidshond-bederfdag aangebied en vyf van ons inwoners se getroue vierpotige vriende behoorlik bederf! 🐕🛁
Terwyl die gidshonde ’n lekker bad en ’n bietjie ekstra liefde ontvang het, kon ons inwoners die oggend geniet met ’n heerlike ontbyt. ☕🥐
Ons gidshonde is soveel meer as net ons inwoners se oë — hulle is lojale metgeselle, vertrouelinge en ’n belangrike deel van hul daaglikse lewens. Daarom is dit besonders om te sien hoe hulle ook die bederf en waardering ontvang wat hulle verdien. 💙
’n Groot dankie aan Shell Worcester vir hierdie spesiale inisiatief, julle omgee en die liefde waarmee julle ons inwoners en hul vierpotige vriende bederf het! 🐾💙
