On 4 June 2026, ACVV Worcester launched a child protection program in collaboration with Bollieland Crèche and the local traffic department.

The initiative featured two key components: traffic official conducted an educational session on road safety, while ACVV facilitators delivered an interactive puppet show dialogue centered on anti-bullying.

The presentation emphasized the importance of mutual respect and looking out for one another's safety.

At the conclusion of the puppet show, facilitators conducted a brief review session, asking targeted questions to assess the children's attentiveness and comprehension.

On 2 June 2026, ACVV Worcester launched a child protection program in collaboration with RK Primary School, specifically engaging the school's Grade 8 learners.

The session opened with a reflection on the severe storm that orccurred a few weeks prior, offering solidarity to all affected individuals. Participants then completed an ice breaker activity to express gratitude for their ongoing safety.

Following this introduction, the core program focused on children's rights and guidelines regarding sexual offences, including the issue of teenage pregnancy. This segment aimed to familiarise learners with the social service processes and field-specific risk factors.

Additionally, learners received practical guidance on how and to whom they should report incidents. The children demonstrated outstanding engagement and teamwork throughout the activities. The program concluded with each participant receiving a snack and a piece of fresh fruit.

On 1 June 2026, ACVV Worcester hosted a child protection program at CC Scheepers Day Care, featuring an educational puppet show dialogue focused on pedestrian safety. The presentation detailed essential rules for crossing roads safely, equipping learners with the knowledge to assist others in doing the same.

To assess their understanding, facilitators conducted a follow-up Q&A session, which met with enthusiastic participation from the children. The program concluded with each learner receiving a sweet treat and a snack.

On 29 May 2026, ACVV Worcester, in collaboration with Worcester Hospital, hosted it's inaugural Child Protection Program. The initiative featured an interactive puppet show dialogue designed to educate children on health and wellness practices, also their right to have access this as it is part of their basic needs. Parents were also in attendance to support the initiative.

The young audience engaged enthusiastically with the presentation, displaying strong attentiveness and curiosity through their questions at the conclusion of the session. To reinforce the program's theme, it ended with each child and parent receiving two pieces of fresh fruit.

Urgently Call for Temporary Safety Parents - Worcester Area

The ACVV Worcester is currently seeking eligible Safety Parents to provide a secure and nurturing environment for a 17-year-old boy. This is a temporary placement for an initial period for Three Months, with the potential to transition into a formal foster care arrangement.

We are looking for individuals or families who can offer stability, guidance, and care during this critical time in a young person's life.

Requirements:
•Must be 18 years and older.
•Willingness to undergo the formal screening and vetting process.
•A commitment to provide a safe and supportive home environment.

APRIL THEME : CHILDREN AND SELF-HARM

Self-harm in children is rarely without an underlying cause; therefore, it is critical to identify the root triggers of such behaviour. Caregivers and adults should facilitate emotional and psychological healing by fostering open communication, active listening, and providing consistent positive reinforcement and support.

On the 31 March, the ACVV hosted a substance abuse awareness programme in collaboration with FasFacts, an organisation specialising in the physiological and social consequences of chemical dependency. Specifically tailored for adolescents, the initiative proved highly effective, evidenced by the enthusiastic participation of the youth involved.
