🔧 Keeping the Garden of Remembrance in good shape, one repair at a time.

Our maintenance team is constantly attending to the little things that need fixing in the Garden of Remembrance. They are constantly repairing, replacing and maintaining what they can to keep the garden looking neat and cared for.

It may not always be the most noticeable work, but staying on top of these repairs helps prevent small problems from becoming bigger ones. Thank you to our team for taking such pride in looking after this beautiful space. 🌿⛲

🌸 A beautiful transformation!

A big thank you to the Worcester Plantjiesklub for giving the entrance wall at Reitz Plain a beautiful new look. The colourful flowers have brought new life and a wonderful splash of colour to this part of Worcester. 🌺

💪 Our maintenance team has been at it again!

Our WCID maintenance team recently tackled the overgrown pavement in Tulbagh Street where the weeds had become quite a challenge.

In just one day, the team made a huge difference clearing the pavement and restoring the area to a clean and neat condition.

We’re proud of the difference our team makes in the WCID area every day. Thank you to our hardworking maintenance team for always stepping in where they can and helping to keep Worcester looking its best! 👏

After ongoing frustrations with broken water pipes and electrical faults, some much-needed repairs have now been completed in the Garden of Remembrance.

The damaged pipes that caused water to collect in unwanted areas have been repaired, while the electrical issues that repeatedly caused the floodlights to trip have also been addressed.

Once the electrical Certificate of Compliance has been submitted to the Parks Department, we look forward to enjoying our beautiful garden, fountain and the magical glow of the lights at night once again. 🌿⛲✨

🎉 Happy 50th Birthday, Howard Prins! 🎉

Today we celebrate a very special milestone for Howard, a valued member of our WCID maintenance team.

Howard has a real passion and talent for gardening and has spent many hours caring for and keeping our beautiful Garden of Remembrance looking its best. 🌿🌸 While he was once the dedicated "Garden of Remembrance guy", our small team of just three now works across the entire WCID area — and Howard takes his green fingers wherever they are needed!

Thank you, Howard, for your hard work, dedication, and the pride you take in keeping Worcester looking beautiful.

🚦We are excited about the improvements in Worcester’s CBD!

A sincere thank you to the BVM Electrical Department for the installation of four new traffic lights at the busy Porter and High Street intersection near Pick n Pay.

We especially appreciate Fabian Geduld and his team for the work they are doing to upgrade traffic lights in the CBD. These improvements are carried out as and when the department can accommodate them within its broader electrical responsibilities, and the schedule is adjusted regularly to meet the many electrical needs across town.

It is encouraging to know that upgrades will continue on an ongoing long-term basis as opportunities arise. We are excited about the positive difference this improvement will make for motorists and pedestrians alike. 👏
