As we closed off Women’s Month, the PHSDSBC was honoured to join the DENOSA Women’s Celebration Day held on 26 August in the Free State.

The day was a meaningful celebration of the strength, resilience, leadership and invaluable contribution of women, particularly those who continue to play a vital role in shaping and strengthening our public health and social development sectors.

While Women’s Month may have come to an end, our commitment to recognising, empowering and supporting women continues every day. The Council remains dedicated to creating spaces that uplift women, amplify their voices and contribute towards a future where every woman is empowered to thrive.

Here’s to celebrating women not only during August, but throughout the year. 💛

A mosquito may be small, but the threat it carries is not.

On World Mosquito Day, we recognise the vital role of public healthcare in preventing the spread of mosquito-borne diseases like dengue, Zika and chikungunya. Through education, early intervention and community action, we can protect the health of those around us.

Prevention starts with all of us. Remove standing water, protect yourself from bites, and help raise awareness in your community. Together, we can save lives.

Today, we celebrate the energy, ideas, and ambition of young people who continue to shape the world around us. 🌍✨

On International Youth Day, we recognise the role young people play in creating change, challenging the status quo and building a better future for their communities.

To every young person working towards something bigger — your voice matters, your ideas matter, and your contribution matters. Keep learning, keep leading, and keep making a difference. 💛

And just like that, we’ve wrapped up our KZN Exhibition Drive! 💛

Our final stop was Murchison District Hospital, where we connected with healthcare workers, shared information and had meaningful conversations.

A big thank you to everyone who welcomed us, and to PSCBC for another impactful collaboration. Three days, three hospitals, one shared purpose — giving hope and restoring dignity. 🙌🏾
