Crime leaves marks we don't always talk about, on our relationships, our sense of safety, even our faith. This clip speaks to the real, human cost of crime. Because healing starts with being understood. ๐Ÿ’›

Hello friends and family of RJC! ๐ŸŒŸ

I hope you are all well. I am excited to share our strategic vision for the Restorative Justice Centre for 2026 - 2027.

Our vision is to build an RJC that empowers communities, transforms systems, and advances healing-centered justice across South Africa.

Here is what we are working towards:

๐Ÿ”น Advocating for restorative justice in GBV and criminal justice systems
๐Ÿ”น Growing our mediation services in workplaces, schools, churches, and communities
๐Ÿ”น Mentoring young leaders and peacebuilders
๐Ÿ”น Deepening partnerships with faith-based communities
๐Ÿ”น Building a stronger, more sustainable RJC

I believe that sustainable transformation happens when communities are empowered to participate in solutions, when institutions collaborate, and when leadership is rooted in dignity, justice, and healing.

Thank you for walking this journey with us. ๐Ÿ’›

๐Ÿ’™ So encouraging to see the courageous initiatives referred to in this article all affirming the dignity of those who have been incarcerated.

The Incarceration Nations Network recently launched the Global Freedom Consulting Agency right here in Cape Town an incredible step forward in giving people with lived experience a global platform to lead change in justice and rehabilitation.
Nelson Mandela himself was once incarcerated and went on to become one of the world's greatest leaders. This initiative honours that legacy.

We believe every person deserves a second chance and the chance to contribute meaningfully to society. ๐Ÿ™Œ

18 April 2026 | RJC Mediation Training

Last weekโ€™s session brought people into one room with a shared purpose, learning how to handle conflict with clarity, empathy, and accountability.

From group discussions to practical exercises, participants didnโ€™t just learn, they practiced real skills that can be applied in everyday situations.

This is where meaningful change begins. In conversations, in understanding, and in the courage to do things differently. ๐Ÿค

What a meaningful training session we had last week at RJC.

It was inspiring to see people come together with open hearts and open minds, learning skills that create understanding, accountability, and healing in real-life conflict situations.

This is how change grows: one conversation, one skill, and one restored relationship at a time. ๐Ÿค

Not every wound needs revenge.
Some wounds need truth, accountability, and the courage to forgive. That is where real peace begins.

Would you choose forgiveness?

Prison alone doesnโ€™t fix whatโ€™s broken. True justice restores and prevents.

Our justice system prioritizes retribution, but research shows most released prisoners re-offend. Are we really solving the problem?
