๐ฅ FIRE SAFETY TRAINING โ PREVENTION SAVES LIVES ๐ฅ
We had the privilege of attending fire-training sessions in Tuesday 1 September or Saturday 5 September, hosted by the Mossel Bay Fire & Rescue Department.
A huge round of applause and thank you to Hein and Adrian, our two instructors, for an extremely informative and practical session. ๐๐ฅ
We walked away with a much better understanding of:
๐ฅ The sources and causes of fires
๐ฅ Fire prevention and the factors that can increase the risk
๐ฅ The different types of fires and fire extinguishers
๐ฅ How to correctly use a fire extinguisher
๐ฅ How to use fire hydrants and where to locate them
๐ฅ What information is important when reporting a fire
This knowledge is incredibly valuable because, in many emergencies, residents are often the first people on the scene.
Knowing what to do can make a real difference. We can provide the Fire Station with accurate and valuable information, help people evacuate safely, and, where it is safe to do so, take immediate steps to prevent the fire from spreading while waiting for the professionals to arrive.
There are many factors to consider when protecting your neighbourhood, your community and, most importantly, your own home from fire.
We have listed only a few of the most common causes and prevention factors โ but behind many fires, there is often human action or negligence.
So, be smart. Be careful. Be prepared.
๐ฅ PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE. ๐ฅ
Don't wait for a fire to teach you what you should have known.
Protect your house. Protect your home. Protect your life. Protect your family. โค๏ธ๐ ๐ฅ
A little knowledge today can save a life tomorrow.
Thank you, Mossel Bay Fire & Rescue Department and Mossel Bay Municipality for investing your knowledge in our community. ๐๐
