🚨🐾 URGENT DOG FOOD APPEAL – WE STILL NEED R5,700! 🐾🚨

Suppawters, you did it again! Thanks to your incredible kindness and generosity, you helped us raise R5,400 towards our dog food bill, allowing us to purchase some much-needed stock and buy ourselves a little bit of time. We are so grateful for every single donation, help and suppawt!

But our battle is not over yet. We still need to raise the remaining R5,700 to complete our dog food order and ensure that our rescues have enough food to carry them through the rest of the month.

Right now, we are facing multiple urgent crises. Every day brings another emergency rescue, another vet bill, another desperate animal needing help and our accounting bills. While these emergencies cannot be ignored, neither can the hungry mouths waiting for their meals every morning and every evening.

The animals in our care depend entirely on us. They don't understand budgets, fundraising targets, or financial struggles. These bills are absolute necessities, we cannot function responsibly as an animal rescue organization with integrity without it. Dear Suppawters,
We are working around the clock trying to raise the funds we need for our running costs, but right now we have to focus on one critical emergency — our dog food bill of R10,900, see screenshot of the message from our kennel manager on oyr management group.

As we stand today, we only have 5 bags of adult dog food and 2 bags of puppy food left. That may sound like a lot, but with so many hungry mouths depending on us every single day, it will only last until Monday morning. After that, we simply do not know what we are going to do.

Every rescue in our care has already endured more suffering than any animal should ever have to face. They have known starvation, neglect, abuse, abandonment, and heartbreak. When they arrive at our haven, one of the very first promises we make to them is that they will never have to wonder where their next meal is coming from again.
Food is not a luxury. Food is survival.
Food is what helps an emaciated dog stand on its feet again. Food is what gives sick and injured rescues the strength to heal. Food is what nourishes growing puppies who deserve a chance at life. Food is what keeps tails wagging, bodies healthy, and hope alive.

Right now, that promise is hanging by a thread because we simply do not have the funds to buy our next food order. I wish there was another solution. I wish there was another place to turn. But there isn't. So today, I am shouting from the rooftops, begging with a desperate and bleeding heart:

Suppawters, wow, where do we even begin to thank you. Through every tear, sleepless night and moment of fear that we were going to lose everything, you stood by us and because of your kindness and unwavering suppawt, OUR RENT IS PAID. 🐾😭

You truly came through for us in the nick of time and we need to give a truly special and heartfelt thank you to one incredible donor who donated far more than we could have ever expected, allowing us not only to secure our haven but also pay an extra R4,000 towards our urgent vet bill. That generosity gave us room to breathe when we felt like we were drowning and we are deeply, deeply grateful.

But suppawters, as one burden lifts, the next one stands right in front of us and we are once again on our knees begging for your help because our fight is far from over.

Right now we only have a few days worth of dog food left before our bins stand empty. The thought alone is terrifying because every rescue in our care depends on us completely for survival. Tiny hungry mouths, old souls, broken bodies recovering from neglect, abuse and starvation; they all wait at feeding time trusting us to never fail them. We cannot bear the thought of looking into their eyes knowing we don’t have enough food to feed them.

And then there is our staff, the backbone of this rescue haven. These are the people who wake up before sunrise and work until long after dark. They clean kennels in the freezing cold, carry sick animals to safety, comfort the abused, feed the weak, scrub wounds, give medications, respond to emergencies and pour every ounce of themselves into saving lives that the world threw away.
They work exhausting, emotionally draining days without complaint because they love these animals just as fiercely as we do, but they are human too. They have families to feed, homes to run and lives to survive outside these haven gates. It breaks my heart that month after month I cannot pay them properly or fully on time. They continue showing up despite the hardship and their loyalty humbles me beyond words.

Suppawters, we are begging you from the deepest place of desperation, pawlease don’t let us fall now after coming this far. Pup'date on precious Raini. Remember the disheveled shell of a dog we rescued on Monday? Well suppawters, Raini is broken beyond words. Beneath her fragile little body lies unimaginable suffering and neglect that has clearly been ongoing for far too long. She is weak, emotionally defeated and hanging onto life with every ounce of strength she has left.

Right now our vet needs us to first help Raini pick up a little weight and become more stable before we can proceed with further testing. There are serious concerns that her intestines may also have suffered severe damage from prolonged starvation and neglect, and there is a strong possibility she is battling tick bite fever too. Once stable enough, her blood tests alone will cost R1,800 and her tick bite fever treatment, hospitalization on a drip and possible blood transfusion will cost approximately R5,600. Total is R7,400.

While we do everything possible to nourish her frail body with proper food, warmth, medical care and endless love, we urgently need your help to raise the funds needed to save her life. Raini has come this far only because we finally chose to fight for her instead of abandoning her to die. We cannot fail her now when all she has ever known is pain, suffering and heartbreak.

Her eyes tell a story no soul should ever have to live through. Yet despite all the hurt, she still gently looks at us as if begging us not to give up on her. And we won't. But we desperately need you beside us.
