I grief a lot of things. I grief my son being neglected and my cry outs for help ignored by those who were supposed to help us. I grief how I as mother and woman was treated, violated and stripped of my humanity,. I grief having to sleep on the naked floor next to my son's bed in hospital. I grief having to face this alone because of covid. I grief daily. I grief deeply. I miss you Cayd

To all mothers, I wish you a blessed Mother’s Day.

Today, I want to thank every mother who has walked this painful journey with me over the years. As a bereaved mother, days like these remind me that the cross remains heavy and the memories still hurt deeply.

Yet through your love and support, I continue to stand — and together we have been able to bring care, hope, and compassion to women, mothers, and children who may never have experienced it had we not chosen to intervene and walk alongside them and make a difference.

This is our biblical calling: to be there for one another with love and compassion.

May God bless each one of you abundantly. You are deeply appreciated.

Rest in peace our son Cayd.

We’ve taken stock of the materials on hand and are pleased to confirm that we have enough to produce a substantial number of
bags.

A heartfelt thank you to Christo Jasson and Nella Jacobs for your generous contributions.

We’re also honoured to pay it forward by sharing some of the materials with my friend Janine, an entrepreneur who creates and sells her own bags at the Zwartland Market at the end of each month.

We are continuing to work towards a mid-May launch to kickstart this meaningful and exciting project.

As part of our Mandela Day drive,
The Commit will be making and donating toiletry bags to an institution.

This outreach will also include a small workshop where two youths will be introduced to basic pattern making, cutting, and sewing skills.

Workshops be held on the
16th and 23rd of May 2026.

Good day All. The Cayd Smith Payitforward Commit would like to get involve with this beautiful initiative and support RedCross on their 70th Birthday Teddy Bear Drive.

Note that the request is for NEW Teddy Bears.

This June, The Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital celebrates 70 years of saving children’s lives!

To mark this milestone, we’re wrapping every child in extra comfort and love by giving them a cuddly teddy bear to hold close during their hospital journey.

Because every brave little one deserves a soft ‘BEARst friend’ to snuggle with. 🧸🩵
