When individuals and movements unite globally, we create a powerful force. Rising at the 15th AWID International Forum. It was such a privilege to participate in this forum.

25/11/2024

๐ŸŒ On this International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, we stand united against a chilling truth: every 10 minutes, a woman loses her life to violence.

๐Ÿšซ Violence against women and girls is a pervasive human rights violation that impacts nearly one in three women globally. This means that many are subjected to physical or sexual violence at some point in their lives.

๐Ÿ’” In 2023 alone, at least 51,100 women fell victim to gender-based violence, tragically ending their lives at the hands of partners and family membersโ€”a stark reminder of the urgent need for action.

๐Ÿ”ด This crisis has deepened across various environments, from the workplace to the digital realm, and is further fueled by conflict and climate change.

๐Ÿ’ช We must act decisively: hold perpetrators accountable and support powerful, well-funded national strategies that empower womenโ€™s rights movements. Join us in taking action. Together, we can say enough is enough.
