Have you picked up our Women’s Month issue yet? Inside, we celebrate remarkable women, powerful stories and the people creating change in their communities.

Get your copy from an official Big Issue vendor while it’s still on the streets.

This Women’s Month, we were proud to partner with The Shared Table to celebrate the remarkable women behind feeding schemes in Phesantekraal and Uitsig.

These community heroes spend so much of their time caring for others, so it was a pleasure to be part of a morning dedicated entirely to them. Each woman went home with a copy of the latest issue of The Big Issue, filled with stories to enjoy in a well-earned moment of her own.

Thank you to The Shared Table for bringing everyone together and for the important work you continue to do in our communities.

For 30 years, every copy of The Big Issue has been a hand up, not a handout. This year, we’re aiming to raise R300 000 to help us continue supporting the people behind the magazine – our vendors and their families.

Your support helps fund:
• Jobs for around 120 vendors every month
• Food support reaching over 500 family members
• Free Saturday School tuition for Grade 11 and 12 learners
• Home improvements for vendors living in vulnerable conditions

If The Big Issue has ever meant something to you, this is a chance to be part of the next chapter.

Every issue features artwork created through our Vendor Art Programme, expertly facilitated by Elaine Millin.

The programme gives vendors a space to explore their creativity, build confidence and express themselves through art. For some, it uncovers a lifelong talent. For others, it's simply a place to find joy and connection.

All the artworks featured in our magazine are available for purchase. If a piece speaks to you, send us a message and we'll put you in touch.

Every artwork purchased helps support the artist behind it while celebrating the creativity that exists within our vendor community.
