As a follow-up to our notice of our dear friend Liz Entwistle's passing, please mark your calendars for her Celebration of Life on July 31st, 2pm, at Sprenger Assisted Living. Also, the family has shared the below obituary that tells a bit more about this fabulous lover of life.

OBITUARY FOR LIZ ENTWISTLE

Liz, Elizabeth, (Betty) (Mums)Entwistle
July 12th, 1935 - May 26th, 2026

Born and raised in Portland Oregon, until married life took her to the west coast of California & to the desert of Corrales, NM, where she lived, raised her children, and retired.

In 2006 she made the move to Port Royal where she fell in love with saltwater life once again but thistime on the East Coast. Liz passed away peacefully in her sleep in the early morning hours of May 26th, after an enjoyable day of reminiscing about old times with her three boys and families.

She was a strong woman and lived vivaciously. She loved music,
loved the Beaufort International Film Festival, and loved to dance, even in her nineties, most will remember her dancing in her "ZOOMER" chair to almost every music performance or festival Beaufort or Port Royal had to offer.

Liz was widely loved, and she widely loved. Her 3 sons meant the world to her and every time any of us would visit she would introduce us to all, every time. She was a proud momma and even prouder wife.

Liz was preceded in death by her love and Light William (Bill) Entwistle, her mother Ruby Engle, her mother-in-law, Margret Entwistle, sister Sondra and her newly found father, Halton Aaron Stephens. She leaves behind her three sons, Bill Entwistle (Partner Luis) Mike Entwistle, (wife Rebecca)
John Entwistle, (wife Paula). Five grandchildren, Celio, (wife Nikki), Michael, Brittney, Ashton (wife Savannah)and Aaron.
Three Great Grandchildren, Elenore Rae, Haven Emilia and Hunter. Newly found, already treasured Brother Dennis, Sisters, Penny (daughter Shannon) and Junia (daughter Serena and great niece Selma)

The family asks in Lieu of flowers to please consider donating to The Beaufort International Film
Festival in her honor. See Link Below.

Rebecca and I send our deepest condolences to all of the Entwistle family. Liz was a force of nature. She always had a smile and a hug for us. Her love for the arts in our community was strong and especially for the Beaufort Film Society. Regardless of her health situation she found a way to be at almost all of our events, especially Shorts at High Noon and the Beaufort International Film Festival. For most of the festival's 20 years, Liz was there....for most all of the screenings. For many years she served as a volunteer and most recently she was a sponsor. She even put the BIFF logo on her scooter. It will not be the same without our Liz. I'm sure when she checked in to heaven she asked, "can we live stream BIFF", she'll even show her Golden Tickets. We love Liz. She'l always be with us in spirit and in our hearts. ❤

Below is the message from the Entwistle Family:

Our mom was a strong, fearless, ,
very headstrong, full of life, laughter, and always found a party kinda person. She will truly be missed by all she knew. She was the "Queen of FOMO" (Fear Of Missing Out). She moved to Beaufort, SC in 2006 and immediately started making friends, these friends became lifelong companions. Soon after she became part of the Local Arts, Music, and Film communities. She started following local musicians, attending all of their shows, and attending the local artists galleries.
One of her greatest enjoyments & loves was being a part Beaufort International Film Festival every year from the onset. She loved it so much she became a sponsor. She attended every event, every year and included friends & family from all over to introduce them to her world, right here in Beaufort SC. Attending her last one February 2026.
The family is asking in lui of flowers for Betty, "Liz" Entwistle, to please consider a donation to the "Beaufort International Film Festival".
