One of the most damaging myths about domestic violence is the belief that men cannot be victims.
Because social expectations about masculinity, many male survivors face uniques barriers when seeking help. They may be told to "man up," laughed at, blamed, disbelieved, or dismissed altogether.
Abuse is not defined by gender. It is defined by patterns of power, control, intimidation, coercion, and harm.
Male survivors deserve the same compassion, validation, and access to support as any other victim.
No one should have to suffer in silence because they fear they won't be believed.
Domestic violence can happen to anyone. Support should be available to everyone.
