⚠️ GRAPHIC CONTENT WARNING 💔🐋

246 pilot whales were slaughtered in Leynar, Feroe Islands, including at least 30 pregnant females and their unborn calves. 💔🤰 tragically cut short.

This isn't tradition... It's a crisis of values that allows dozens of defenseless animals to be killed without any justification. 😡🐬❌

The slaughter is so brutal that the water turns blood-red before the eyes of locals and tourists. 🌊🩸😱

And it's not just the killing itself, but all the minutes of terror the dolphins experience as they are rounded up and driven to shore to be murdered. 😥🔪

At TAF - Animal Fund, we believe that protecting the ocean and the life within it is essential for humanity. 💙🌊🌎

🌊 The ocean needs us NOW! 🌊

More than 2,000 brilliant minds (scientists, leaders, and ocean advocates) gathered in Nice, France, for the Ocean Science Conference. Their mission? Turning science into REAL ACTION! 🚀

📍 TAF - The Animal Fund - was present as part of our commitment to protecting the ocean and ocean life.

CRUCIAL issues for the future of our seas were discussed. From protecting species to combating pollution, everything was on the table! 🦀🐠🦑

This summit was the prelude to the United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC3).

Let's hope the voices raised here will resonate with decision-makers as heads of state meet this week at UNOC3.

The ocean is calling... and it's time to listen!

The International School of Nice is an incredible place where they teach children about the importance of protecting our ocean. 🙏

We are proud to witness that our partner ISN (International School of Nice) is a front runner for educating children from 3-13 years old via their ocean hub and workshop platform! 🌍🌍

At this school in Nice, they sow seeds of love for our planet. ❤️

We strongly support these actions at TAF - The Animal Fund -because we have always believed in the importance of education from an early age.

Only in this way can we protect the planet from a bleak future. 👈

Humanity is destroying the ocean and the species that live there. 🌍💥

Saskia, Jenna, Sonia, and Nassim decided to do something about it and joined TAF - The Animal Fund as volunteers. 🤝

They are facing this urgent issue with love, dedication, and commitment.

The ocean loves us, but... 😭😢

It also feels sorrow. 😔

This is what it would say if it spoke our language. ⬇️⬇️⬇️

💭 "Dear Earthling, I've seen you have fun and I've seen you have bad days. Today I'm drowning in tears because you pollute me. You don't realize I love you. I give you water. I give you food. I give you my care. And all I get from you are cans."

💭 "Without me, the weather will be hotter, the first consequence of global climate change. I am also the main source of drinking water on Earth. You are dumping garbage on me. To help me, you should educate people so they understand the gravity of the situation."

Although these are letters written by children, they have incredible depth. 🧠🧠

They are aware of the problem and the solutions, thanks to the work of the International School of Nice and the dozens of people who care about the ocean and marine life. 🐋🦈🐳

I loved the ending of one of these letters:

✅ "I hope you think about this problem. Please help us save the ocean."

🌎ECOSYSTEM in crisis.
Experts warn that the critically endangered southern resident killer whales are a stark indicator of an ecosystem in crisis.

TAHLEQUAH, the grieving orca who captured global attention in 2018 by swimming over 1,000 miles (1,600 km) with her dead newborn calf, has tragically lost another calf. Once again, she is carrying the body, an event researchers describe as a “devastating” blow to this struggling population.

Tahlequah belongs to the critically endangered southern resident killer whale group, a unique ecotype that scientists fear is at risk of disappearing entirely from the Pacific coast.
