Last week at Foothills Rotary, our October Student of the Month, Itzell Golding, returned to share her interpretation of the Rotary Four-Way Test. Great job, Itzell! We loved hearing your perspective!

We also welcomed Ana and Larry from the San Luis Frontera Rotary Club, who shared their efforts to bring clean drinking water to schools in San Luis, Mexico. Their goal is to make sure every school has access to safe drinking water, and it’s wonderful to see Rotary clubs throughout Yuma coming together to help support this international project!

It’s amazing what Rotarians can accomplish when clubs work together to make a difference, both in our own communities and across borders!

📚💙 Another Great Day of Sharing Dictionaries!

Today, our Foothills Rotary Club visited Otondo Elementary to hand out dictionaries to their 3rd graders!

The students were so excited to receive their very own dictionaries and were incredibly respectful and attentive as we shared what Rotary is all about and why literacy is so important! 📖💛

A special thank you to Tony from Fort Yuma Rotary for joining us in the fun and helping make this visit even more special!

We love seeing the excitement on these kiddos’ faces and hope their new dictionaries inspire a lifelong love of learning! 💙

📚💙 Another Fun Day of Dictionaries!

Today, our Foothills Rotary Club visited Freedom Christian Academy to hand out dictionaries to their students!

These kiddos were full of curiosity and had so many great questions! One student even asked if kids could join Rotary, which gave us the perfect opportunity to share a little about Interact and Rotaract! 💛

The excitement didn’t stop there! As soon as they received their dictionaries, they were racing to see who could find the longest word! 😂📖

We love seeing students so excited to learn, and moments like these remind us why the Dictionary Project is so special! 💙

This Week in Foothills Rotary!

We were excited to recognize our October Student of the Month, Itzell Golding! 🎓 Itzell shared a little about herself, including her love for pickleball, spending time with family, and her plans to graduate with her associate degree this May! We look forward to welcoming her back to share her interpretation of Rotary’s Four-Way Test!

Our guest speaker, Heather Cheney from Yuma Random Acts of Kindness, shared her inspiring story of how the organization once helped her and how that experience led her to become a volunteer herself. ❤️

She also shared the incredible work they do to support veterans and civilians in need throughout Yuma, whether it’s providing food, helping with bills, or connecting individuals with valuable community resources.

Thank you to both Itzell and Heather for joining us this week! We love hearing stories that remind us why Service Above Self is so important!

📚❤️ Another wonderful morning spreading the joy of learning!

This morning, our Foothills Rotary Club visited Desert Mesa Elementary to pass out dictionaries to 3rd graders, and we had such a great time!

A HUGE thank you to the Yuma Police Department for joining us and lending a helping hand! 👮‍♂️💙 The kiddos were so excited to see the officers there, which made the morning even more special!

We also had a sweet moment as our very own Treasurer, Chelsey, got to give her son his very own dictionary! 🥹❤️

It’s moments like these that make our Dictionary Project so rewarding. We love seeing the excitement on these kiddos’ faces!

📚✨ What a wonderful morning at Dorothy Hall Elementary!

Our Foothills Rotary Club had the opportunity to pass out dictionaries to 3rd graders and share a little about what Rotary is and how we serve our community!

The students were such a great group, and seeing their excitement as they immediately began flipping through their very own dictionaries was priceless!

It’s moments like these that remind us why we love this project so much. We hope these dictionaries inspire curiosity, learning, and a love for discovering new things!

This week at Foothills Rotary, we were excited to welcome back our Student of the Month, Immanuel! Immanuel shared his interpretation of Rotary’s Four-Way Test and how he has been applying its principles in his everyday life, especially in his role as president of his school’s AVID Club. He has already noticed the positive impact it’s making within his club and hopes to introduce the Four-Way Test to students across campus. We love seeing our young leaders put these values into action!

We also had the pleasure of welcoming Michelle Lego from Greater Yuma Economic Development Corp. as our guest speaker! Michelle gave us an insightful overview of the organization’s work, local job creation, and economic developments over the past year. One particularly interesting takeaway was how she compared Yuma’s job growth to a city the size of Phoenix, helping us better understand the significance of those numbers for our community. Michelle also took the time to answer many great questions from our members, making for a wonderful and informative presentation!

We’ve had some great speakers at Foothills Rotary these past two weeks!

Last week, we welcomed Kim Seh, who shared more about the Legacy Gala and Teacher of the Year, organized by the Education Foundation of Yuma County. It was also wonderful having a fellow Rotarian from Somerton Rotary join us!

This week, our very own Millie shared about her experience at the District 5500 Conference. She heard from inspiring speakers on topics ranging from the secret to happiness to Rotary’s continued goal of eradicating polio worldwide, and so much more.

Thank you, Millie, for representing Foothills Rotary at the conference and bringing your experience back to share with our club! 🌎✨

What an incredible 11th Annual Yuma Foothills Rotary Golf Tournament!

A huge THANK YOU to all of our sponsors, donors, golfers, volunteers, and everyone who helped make this year’s tournament a success!

Your support goes far beyond a day on the golf course. Proceeds from our tournament help fund scholarships for local students, community service projects, and other programs that allow us to continue giving back to the Yuma community throughout the year.
